I'm actually really curious. I had a set for almost a year and enjoyed them. I recently traded them for bennets because I didn't need more than one set of wheel over 75mm. Overall a fine wheel. I know we all have different opinions, I'm just curious.
They are the worst wheels in history because they ride like they are 100a and slide like garbage. They scream and chatter more than any other wheel i've ever ridden and you practically have to ride on marble roads if you're going to go faster than 25 and enjoy yourself in the least bit.
With those huge flywheel cores why wouldn't you want 75a thane? It just so happens that 75a flywheels are some of the BEST wheels in history.
I think he mentioned in another thread that he was in middle school...so idk.

Really? Before non-Gumball BigZigs were out, my 83mm 81a Flys were my go to wheel. That was the wheel for a lot of people. The grip is decent and never once found them chattery. Are you super light weight?

I'm 190lbs... but the fly's I'm basing this off were 76mm. Maybe the extra thane depth on yours improved the situation a bit. Then again, maybe you've never ridden 75a fly's

Well.
First, you're making me wanna try the 75a flys.
Second, I think the extra thane does help, I haven't experienced any of the problems you've described.
Its very likely that the 83mm flys are better in that duro. I haven't ridden 83s enough to know, but I do know that 81a grippins are the sickest, so it might have everything to do with thane depth. The reason I like the 75a's so much is because they are the sickest all the way down to 60mm which is exactly when the cores hit the ground. Its always a struggle to keep them round though because they wear out really fast.
So I've been trying to slide my crappy old Wal-Mart board for months, to no avail... when today I discovered why.
The wheels are made of some kind of hardened rubber rather than urethane. Not only that, but they appear to be at least semi-hollow... the outer layer feels pretty hard to the touch, but you can squeeze them and they give quite a bit.
So all the while I've been feeling like a n00b because I can slide 73a Avilas easier than 48mm street wheels... and all the while the 48mm street wheels have been made of grippy-as-fvck rubber.
Dammit I need some slide-a's.

wow 16 posts into the page and no abused wheels, this thread is going to turn into the rest of silverfish.
anyway I posted these a few weeks back not quite cored, but decided to mount them up again today to finish them off. after a while standers got a bit sketchy but they were fun until the end.
next to some 70mm flashbacks (their replacements)
