Re: Show me... abused wheels!
the key to making wheels better is doing quick slides, not huge slides
you want to do fast quick slides

Re: Show me... abused wheels!
The more often that you're sliding at 90*, the greater the chance that your wheels are going to goof up on you. Stay under 90*, or go over, but if the wheels stop spinning the wear won't be even.

Re: Show me... abused wheels!
just do full colemans. the wheels will keep spinning and that combined with sliding will even out your wheels. it can be fast or long, slow, and drawn out. just get the full rotation of a coleman and bring it back to even everything out.

Re: Show me... abused wheels!
The flattening isnt terrible and was only noticeable after my most recent session on them, where I was doing a lot of half assed slides on my first time on Indy trucks. Its barely noticable by looking, I had to feel around on all the wheels to see which ones were flattening. They are 83a drifters and im taking them out tomorrow to see if a ton of quick slides makes them any worse. I hope not.

tyler lets hit the guard rail up(soon) and pound out quick pendys on your drifters and my 70mm race forms, they have started to show some flattening.

if they are 83a srifters they could have a death swirl which means they are doomed.

Was planning on skating the entire neighborhood (from woodcreek to past the guardrail) when I get off of work tomorrow, are you down? That way we could bust slides down all the hills including standies and hopefully get this #### rounded out again, or we can just hit the guardrail (not literally).

Im pretty sure they dont have the swirl, theyve worn down several mm since they were new and this only started after my most recent session with a lot of shitty sliding going on.

Re: Show me... abused wheels!
Sorry it took so long to post these single session flat spots. They were both new wheels prior to the sessions.
This one is from the East Coast Fall Slide Jam 08'. It has one debilitating flat and four additional facets around the outer edge. It is from Sergio Nose-manuals.

This is from this years New Jersey Outlaw. It came from three, one wheeled Crail grab slides (ala Faltown, Art of Going Sideways).

Holla.

Nice SMOOTH pendys and drifts will smooth out a flatspot.

I don't get this thread at all either!
why do so many people core their drifty shape wheels?!
it's like they're actually using them for drifts and slides!
pretty crazy

... a waste of money? and destroying a set of slide wheels is what then...? an investment?
we slide soft wheels because hard wheels don't grip for sh!t and soft wheels leave pretty lines all over the road. also, hard wheels are a PAIN IN THE ASS on any surface that isn't buttery smooth.
personally, i hate hard wheels. soft wheel sliding is a completely different feeling and many of us prefer it. probably has something to do with the fact that a lot of us are speedboarders and are used to soft wheels in general.

Re: Show me... abused wheels!
I see. Upon further thought, if I lived in a hilly area, I'd do this too. The flat's aren't really a slide friendly terrain.
