Re: Show me... abused wheels!
grippins have a huge contact patch and on the abec11 site it says they are made for grip/slalom. for speed sliding on large wheels softer is better (83a or less). regardless of the duro, grippins are wide and centerset which will be grippier than a gumball which is side set with a narrower contact patch, so it will slide easier.

Re: Show me... abused wheels!
hard, wide, and center-set wheels in the abec 'thane will only lead you to disappointment in what you're looking for in a larger, slide-oriented wheel
i'm not sure how a offset/sideset wheel in the abec 'thane will be but i imagine it being a hell of a lot better (quieter, smoother, more predictable) in the higher duros
^this holds true with softer duros
so higher duro flashbacks and strikers may be your ticket, dudes
88a flashbacks seem like they'd be ideal for a harder slide-oriented wheel
when in doubt...81a flashbacks

still seems rideable, Bdirthead had a huge flatspot on one of his slide a's but rode them out pretty well. if you just do pendys will you be able to even them out?

Right on ev! Sad to see those drifters go though, my 80a ones have the swirl/triangle wear. Not fun.

Re: Show me... abused wheels!

Ripped the core clean out. One moment I was standup sliding in traffic, the next I was on my ass watching my board roll in one direction while my wheel rolled in another..
