Re: hot spots
i use them for tight slalom, they aren't very grippy past a certain point in a turn, but they pick up speed quick. basically, i think they're fine for what they were designed for, but i wouldn't use them on a carving board because they'd slide out too easy for my likes.

Re: hot spots
personally there my favorite wheel as far as them breaking free easy, i would say no to that, cause my zigszags break quicker, its just once hotspots are in a slide they slide quicker, and ihave used them on basically every type of board, and to me there best suited for hard carvers, dancers and slalom boards

Re: hot spots
Yeah I think they have a pretty good amount of traction, more than gummies maybe...but as soon as they go into a slide they slide fast. I'll put it this way, for standup 180's they take more effort to start sliding, but once they break you get the rotation very fast. Whereas with gummies I'm more likely to get tossed halfway through.

Re: hot spots
in addition to what others said, i feel they slide more predictably & ride more smoothly than zigzags.
Abec11 thane seems to be a little bit faster, and grippier, but I much prefer the ride and feel of seismic.

Re: hot spots
loki u use the on carving setups? i tried them on my highlander with super loose crails (not a carvy truck mind you) and they couldn't stick a hard carve for nothin. then i threw on some 78a GOS and they stuck like glue.
not what i expected at all, but that's how it was.

Re: hot spots
i have em on a carvy pumper. its got a consistent feel to it that lets me toss it out anytime i want, and stick it otherwise.

Re: hot spots
ah, a 35" - the same wheel on a shorter board will feel grippier than on a longer board, imo. i would use then on a "carving board" under 35"

Re: hot spots
All this talk about Hotspots is getting me hyped up. I'm now thinking about pickin' up a set at Bonelli (if the Seismic tent is carrying them) in 80a. Gonna use these on my Voodoo for DH. This is gonna be lowwww.

Re: hot spots
I run white/blue on my GS board - got me my one and only podium finish!
The rears come loose on occasion, but they don't slide out all crazy and they seem to hook right back up again when you let up a bit. Me likey.
