    Default I've got teh roadriders!!

Oh yeah!! I was at my mums boyfriends house on the weekend.he was a skater back in the days and he had these wheels, i asked him what they were and he said i wouldn't have heard of them. I said try me and he was said roadriders. i was like woah teh roadriders. long story short he said i could have them(yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!1).
so now i have original roadriders from 1975 in good condition and original skf bearings that run better than my lucky abec 5 and they're 31 years old!
does anyone know how much these are worth, if anything? I'm not interested in selling at the mo just wondering.now, Pics!

I'm not sure what those are, but they aren't Road Riders from '75. The shape and color is wrong (they would be dark translucent red), and they would have "Road Rider" along with a number (2s and 4s were available in '75, I don't think 6s came out until '76) molded into the face.

Here's what the 4s looked like (2s were nearly identical, just smaller) :

    Yep. What he said.

Actually, though, you may have something a bit more rare. Were there any companies making wheels in NZ back then?

They look pretty cool man. I love that shape.
Youre gonna have to put together a retro board for those babies. Even if you got a set of bennetts or something and a Zflex deck or a tunnel deck. Or make your own. 8)
Even if you dont ride it much (if at all), those wheels deserve a board.

I want to know if they rumble like regular skateboard wheels or if they sound similar to the softies we normally use. Im also interested in how grippy you think they are OMG.
Looking forward to your retro wheel review

I've seen similar wheels, but none that look *exactly* like that. Back then, most "name brand" wheels had the logo molded into the face, instead of printed like they usually are now. Since there's no logo, its very likely that they weren't a major brand.

As for the "b", my guess is that its just an identifying mark from the mold...

Any one have an idea of worth on original road riders tho, i have a set of 4's 6's and a set called Henry Hester.
I've seen mint sets sell for a few hundred, and even badly worn ones go for close to a hundred...

OMG, do they have any other lettering or identifying marks besides the "B"? You did a good job on that close-up photo; try doing a better close-up of the outer side, and maybe it will jog someone's memory. And/or ask yer mum's BF where/when he got them and whether they came on a complete setup or if he bought 'em separately.

If MSK and JBH can't place those wheels, I dunno... Between the two of them, there's like a million years of skate history. To me, they just look like some of the no-name wheels that were floating about. I wonder if they were produced down under or ?
