So... there should be 125 sets of fishballs in the mail, since I live in canada I'll probably get them later than most of you.

Tell me what you think about them

    I'm so excited!

edit: post review once you get them... but feel free to build some more hype in the meantime

    Default a quick review

OK mine arrived whenever it was that mail arrived today. I got out early from work and they were in my mail bucket. In went a set of Reds and I put them on the board that I have ridden most recently....my drop through speedboard. Ok so it's not the best board for Fishballs but I've bee trying a bunch of different wheels on this board over the last month so of my quiver I am most familiar with this board/truck combo. Anyway on they went and I started a short session on the hill outside my house. The first thing I noticed was that I wasn't riding a lipped (Avila/hotspot/Zigs) wheel anymore. I'd forgotten what a rolled lip wheel felt like at speed. my carves were drifty again and when I started turning at speed wow. Definitely not a wheel I will be skating Mt Holyoke on next weekend but they will end up on my HyperCarve pretty soon.

I put mine on a top mount... I think that's the kind of setup these wheels do best in. Man! The US Postal Service jammed, didn't they?!

Glad you're enjoying that board, Tony.

I'm glad Chris decided to do this pour for us, it makes more similar little special projects seem possible!
I didn't pick any up- My budget is pretty well frozen for a while due to a 4 wheeled thing of the 268 HP variety.
I'll be watching the thread though- hopefuly I can try out yours, Tony, or somebody elses.

yes well you know how to try them right? show up to Wheelabrator, there gonna stay on my HC, it's a perfect match. I will likely be on my speedboard most of the day anyway...also there will probably be 2 sets there, mine and Chris's.

    So I got mine today.

Taking them out of the package I noticed that they kinda' "glowed" a really nice color of green and the graphics were awesome. I bounced 'em a little on the kitchen counter and thought to myself, these are gonna' to be fun!

I cleaned my bearings and slapped 'em on my Arbor Fish w/Randal 180s and went for a ride.

I cruised around the neighborhood and carved some medium sized hills.

The ride was really smooth and for lack of a better word "cushy". I definitely felt like they grabbed the road and had good rebound out my carves.

I'm sure other people will be able to give a better review of the technical merits of these wheels (I'm still in my first year of longboarding). I'll just say, I was super stoked to get these, they look great, and the ride is better than the wheels I've ridden so far.

    Here's some pics.

I would throw them on a freeride rig and drift sweepers no hands with those wheels (but I have made my own out of a set of bigzigs they are fun)

I have mine on my Vanguard and they seem like pink's, big surprise huh?
I'm gonna try them on my pintail but I was never a fan of the pink powerballs when I had them on it so I doubt I'll prefer them over my zig's.
Maybe I'll put my set on my HC too and see how I like that but overall these wheels are just that......wheels.

If you want to know how to truly keep them special, keep them in the plastic so you can brag about having them in a year when the other hundred twenty something set's are worn and chunking, then they will hold some value but other then that nothing special IMO.
    you suck

Got mine today and have used them for a couple of hours now, and I say a big thumbs up!

My Dervish had Lime Bigzig`s with Bones Swiss, and I put some Ballistech Missiles in the Fishballs.

While the Zigs feels a little more smooth because of it`s sheer size, the Fishballs are definitively faster when you start rolling and feels livlier too, because they are smaller I guess.
It feels like they turns a little easier too, so I tightened my trucks slightly after a while.

So my first impression is: A super allround wheel for a Dervish, and I prefer them over the Zig`s so far...
