bucksaw87 not a bad list. I will clarify because I like to bring truth. But nice work on the list.

GFH Boards wheels are done at Labeda. And the new 66mm wheel that earthwing ha and bustin has is a mold that GFH paid for. Granted yes it is a close rendition to another wheel that chris makes, but then so are the wheels that s9 makes. There are only so many times you can reinvent the wheel. So both companies don't say its "your" wheel. Please kindly just keep paying GFH royalties on any 66mm wheel you make.

Also to clarify..The thane is the same at AEND and the thane is the same at most other places. Meaning if they are pouring for Abec or S9 they are pouring often the same compound. Now this wasn't true in the early stages, but from what the word is...s9 came in and basically stole or demanded to have the same urethane poured that chaput was pouring. Sucks, but thats what happens when you have a skate in every shop and you act like a bully.

Do you own the mold, do you own the urethane formula?

So are you saying that some S9 wheels (im guessing the race wheels) have the same reflex 'thane as abec11?

that's what he just said...he said GFH paid for the mold, and bustin and EW pay royalties to GFH to use the mold

to me, race formula feels similar, but way different than reflex...so idk if that means that s9 hijacked reflex formula and tweaked it a little, or what

Most polyurethane formulas are owned and patented by the chemical companies whose organic chemists developed them.

Correct, usually same with the molds, this is why radikal bushings aren't in production anymore.

There is a difference between paying for them to make it, and owning it.

I think it's more like GFH pays less because their molds aren't exclusive to them, in essence yes, they are licensing them out. I highly doubt though that they are being payed royalties. That seems a bit much.

Its not a direct deal that we disclose, but yes GFH paid for the molds and others have been allowed to gain some benefit. We are about to wrap on a new mold that will only be used by GFH. If the other guys want in they will have to pay the bucks to produce their own molds.

They aren't used in longboarding, but I'd LOVE to know who makes Darkstar wheels...

They actually guarantee them against flat spots, and I'll be damned (as someone who DOES flatspot wheels) if they actually DON'T freaking flatspot!

Plus they are fast as hell (as you might expect a 101a wheel with barely a skin of urethane over a hard plastic core to be of course).

High quality stuff though, the actual urethane.

I'm not certain that this is accurate because I came up with it just searching around on the internet but here's what I got,

    Labeda
    .[ L A B E D A - Home ].
    29910 Ohana Circle
    Lake Elsinore, CA92532
    800.524.5892

I came up with less detail about AEND. There physical address is

    15221 Transistor Ln.,
    Huntington Beach, CA
    92649

and the phone is (714) 891-3456, but I didn't find a web site.
