    Default Quick Flywheel Durometer Question

Hey I've been reading over all posts I can find on what flywheel durometer to get my problem is that most of them are on the 83mm wheel and that I'm not exactly sure how much effect the big core has on what hardness to get. I have a Dervish with 10" chargers and I do a lot of cruising and carving but I've been hitting big hills and running at about 35 mph, I'm looking at the 76mm wheel in 78a. I'm looking for a good grip for carving but not too hard to speed check and for some nice drifts. The dervish could handle the 83mm but I've heard about chargers bending easily so I'm guessing that wouldn't be a good idea/the 83s would be a little big pushing and cruising around. Thanks for the help.

I would try some 76mm 78a flys or Pink powerballs. IMO the powerballs would be sick.

    i have flys and powerballs.

p-balls slide easier and are to me, more predictable but less grippy. flys kind of have lips so they grip more at first but lose it over time if you slide/drift alot.

both are great wheels but i think the powerballs are a better choice

from what I gather 76mm/75a flys drift very nicely and still grip well

I have 81a flys on my demonseed, but I used them on my dervish for a little while. After broken in, they slide very easily and smoothly, but still have decent grip. 78a would probably be better all around though. I really like my flys and am planning on getting some for my dervish after my gumballs get a little more coned. The only complaint I have is that the ride isn't great because of the big core, but it really isn't bad at all. And I would probably go 76mm because the 83mm seems like overkill.

I have never ridden powerballs, so I can't comment on those, but I have heard they are great wheels. I would probably still get flys though because you can flip them when they cone, which gives them more life than most wheels.

my friend has 78a powerballs so I might see if I can try them out of my dervish and see how I like them before I order.

I have 76mm 78a Flys on my Dervish atm. Sick for everything you said you want in a wheel. I like the setup. On Paris 180s btw. I switch em all the time depending how I feel that day. A wheel that's right in the middle of both of those options is the 77mm 78a Striker, which I'm actually putting back on next time I ride (Friday). Easier to pull out stand up slides with the Strikers than Flys, but longer, smoother roll than the Fishballs (that's what she said).
