Lately I've been seeing a lot of questions about Bennetts vs. zig zags, and I thought I'd give my opinion.
I just got some 78a opaque green bennetts yesterday (slightly used and already broken in), and so far have only been able to ride them around town and some long distance skating on my chinook. In my opinion, the bennetts roll, well...better, to be as vague as possible. I felt that they rolled longer per push then my 81a zigs did. They just seem like faster wheels, but that is just a first impression before some extensive riding. They also seemed to roll over pebbles and crap just a little better then my zigs did.
I did do a few small standup slides (180's, etc.) on them, and they were just a little harder to break free than the 81a zigs. I imagine that an 81a Bennett would be less grippy then a lime zig, but not significantly so. The slides feel about the same on both types of wheels, even though the Bennetts are a bit softer. Although, like I said before, I haven't done a lot of riding on these. Hopefully tomorrow or Thursday I will take them for some downhill runs and get a better feel for them. But so far, I don't have anything negative to say about them.
