Default Public Service Announcement about Cleaning + Lubing Bearings

Just do it.

Seriously.

If you don't have the equipment to do it, buy it. Don't waste money on new bearings, instead invest in some bearing oil. Those $10 ones you have right now are more than good enough if you clean and oil them. No need for ceramics IMHO...

I just did it last night for the first time since buying the bearings a couple months ago, speedy lunatics. I had noticed they've been rolling for not as long and been making sounds. I opened them, removed all the old chunks of grease and dirt, lubed them with oil, and they perform WAY better than when new.
