Default Too much grip not enough drift.

I got my In Heats in the mail a couple weeks ago. My grizzly hanger broke so im waiting for it to be replaced, so i have been using some wack gullwing trucks to break my wheels in. Im pretty sure they are broken in well enough because the the edges are getting rounded. But i cant seem to drift corners smoothly. Everyone has heard how smoothly these wheels slide and drift but im not feeling it. Im riding a topmount and i know thats goin to increase traction but i should still be able to get a good drift going, I was drifting smoothly with my 70mm pink zigs. Could it be the trucks im riding or is that just how this wheel drifts?

mmm, I've just put in heats on my avenger (top mount), and due to running 35degree trucks it's extremely difficult to break them in as you would on a carving truck. I have not got them to drift at all, and I've pendi slid them a few times out of necessity and it's not help break the wheel in.
My Abec flywheels in78a drifted really well straight off, although not on that board.
One of the team loaded DH guys said he uses 4presidents when he wants grip and drift and In Heats when he wants just grip, and he runs an avenger.
I think they will drift but it may take a long time to get there. Really hard carving for a few hours should help. It's all about wearing the hard edges off the wheels.

I say just go out and have a slide session with them. I don't think they are broken in yet, because I have not problem sliding mine. They drift smoother than zigs IMO. I have 4presidents.

NO MATTER WHAT WHEELS:

If your having trouble getting them to slide your just not going fast enough.
