While Green did ultimately take a couple of nice top spots, the presence of o-tangs was overwhelming. I saw maybe a total of 10 people running retros/abec11 products all week. I would say I saw at least 75 boards with Orangatangs. I think we're looking at the end of the Abec11 dynasty and the dawn of the age of orangatang.

Maybe this will force Chaput to enter the truck market a tad sooner, if this revenue source goes down. I'm expecting great things from the Liquid "Vapour" Trucks....

The O-tangs are great wheels, based on racers' reviews. There was a funny/sly rumor going around that anyone winning the race on "not-Abec11 wheels" would get $5k cash from Chaput ( ) and when that got cleared up, there were guys roaming and hunting for Retros... sold out from the vendors onsite pretty quick.
The races weren't won by wheels, though. TVAR won Juniors because he ripped it on good lines. Racers and old photographers could see that from day one on the hill. Scoot won because he's an outstanding skater with perfect lines on many courses and way more focus than he lets on after races. That said, Zak obviously used the wheels he thought he was fastest/best on, and he can afford any wheel on the market (being a corporate bushings mogul). Scoot rode his Retros and the Monster Hawgs on the hill, opting for whatever he obviously thought he'd be fastest and best on. Zak and Scoot made different choices, as skaters will.

say what you may about the tangs... they were the fastest, gripiest wheel i've ever had on that hill, and i've ridden quite a few. still my fav wheel, and the fastest wheel i've ever been on

I don't know, Abec11 has been around a long time, Orangatang may just be a passing phase.
