if you're talking out sealing the inside of the biltin, why not just put the rubber shield from a set of reds? most people seem to go from reds to biltins anyway
I had the same idea. I tried replacing the metal Biltin shields with the rubber Reds shields and found out that they are too small. I'll be buying a set of Pleasure Tool bearings and see how those fit.
anyone know if PT seals fit rock rons? I ####ed up the first set of seals and i cant find the extra set that came along with them

And of course the rims....
Recently I took my set of abec 7 biltins, and a set of black panthers ceramics, and found that the seals on that set fit the inner race of the biltin. I proceeded to deconstruct both sets of bearings completely, and rebuilt the black panthers ceramics with the inner races from the biltins. I now have ceramic biltins with rubber seals, and they are quite a fun ride.
####'s expensive, a half tube worth of ceramic balls costs me almost $200. Good thing is, the balls are high-quality grade5 silicon nitride.
I might have a set of Ceramic Biltins for sale later this week..
Hit me up if interested.

So you going to start marketing Ceramic Biltins w/ dual labyrinth sheilds? Wonder how much that's going to be?
dual labyrinth shields?
nah, just a single metal shield, the one that comes with it...until i can get something to replace it lol.
The bearing set runs for about $85-90...no plans for mass production yet. it takes so much time to make one..and the market for it is rather small.
I have a special tool for assembling / disassembling, but it still takes time.

The only way to do that would be to ditch the Biltin inner race. It has no channel for a seal to fit into. Also, obviously by ditching it, the bearing would no long have a built in spacer and speed ring.

Get a sharp-point x-acto knife, and run the blade around the outer race. The blade will "catch" on the c-clip. Pry the blade under the end of the clip, and pop it out and off.
Man it is tough to get that c-clip off. I'll have to try again when i have more time/patience . The clip likes to spin around .
if you are to add sheilds or seals, at my local skate they sell single bearings for a buck a peace. if you buy 2 u use all the sheilds and dispose of the bearings.
