david- one suggestion i have for the helmet, PLEASE make it come down a little further in the back. It's nice and non restrictive, but there's just a little too much of the back of my head exposed.
other than that, this lid rocks. I'd love to see the prototype and final
Question, Where can I get one those rad O-tang stickers? I have been trying to find them all over. I think one of you would know cuz I see it on that helmet.
Daddies Boardshop has them for $5. Check out the Orangatang wheel section.
Excited about updates on the prototype(s) for these helmets, btw. Friends are looking for good, light dome protection.

Any pics of the red w/ stripe? These helmets look pretty good, I'd definitely be interested in something safer. Was considering something like a Bell drop but these look better.
As for speedair, I used to own one myself. All of the parts they use are identical to Icaro's, they're hardly just cheap, sh!tty knock offs. They are hand laid fibre glass construction, not crappy ABS like most mass produced helmets. They always struck me as being well made, in the same vein as an Icaro 4fight or Charly No limit. I remember even hearing once before that they actually build some of the helmets for Icaro, though I don't know how true that is.
To play a bit of devil's advocate here, I've known more than a few people who've used and raced speedairs in addition to myself. Personally I've never heard of the helmets flying off, so that could possibly be chalked up to a faulty buckle IMO. Now that's not to say that they're REALLY safe helmets, but I would put them in the same league as most paragliding lids, In other words, use at your own risk.
heres a pic of a red helmet that my friend kody rocks, he did a good job tinting a lexan face-shield with a mirror tint, helmet looks pretty sic. sorry for the quality, screen capture from a shitty helmet cam.
hopefully i'll have a pic of the proto-shell in a few days to post up...i told the owner of predator to exstend the back of the helmet down a little bit months ago, lets see if he did it.

Looking good, I'd love to get a tinted shield so people couldn't see my ridiculous skate faces.

thanks for being patient everyone, as you can imagine these things don't happen to fast...but i got a very encouraging email today from matt, the owner of predator helmets with some tasty looking pictures. i'm really hoping that a few prototype helmets will be on a few select riders heads at newton's playground.
as you can see, this is the first fibreglass/bondo prototype of the shell with the mold for a inset visor...very similar shape to charly/skyrunner, with a inset flush visor.
"here's some pics of the prototype. Give me your feedback.
Send them out to any blogs, sites, or friends who might be interested in seeing this project develop.
Matt"

Price,
I am looking for a new lid, I've had my charlie for a year a went down on it a couple times. Let me know when these become available. Oh and good luck in Oz, jerk.
I've been holding out on buying my first full-face for one of these... looks gorgeous.
Any idea on price? I figure if I'm going to get a full-face I might as well get something quality; lightweight and protective.
I hate waiting for the release but it should definitely be worth it...
Also, any opinion if these could be passable for snowboarding? I may make the transition to hard-bootin' and I would love a good, light full-face to use snowboarding, just seems like it would be so much nicer than a half-shell and goggles, since I don't like half-shells or goggles much. Protection would definitely be enough for snowboarding, only once have I had a crash that my helmet came in handy, and it wasn't very bad, I just tapped a tree. My only real worry is warmth, but I figure it shouldn't get too cold in there since its all closed up. I could always do a simple mod to stick in something to hang down from the helmet, into my jacket to cover the neck.
