Default Precision trucks....bottom washer yes or no for speedboarding

this question goes out to those with kaha's monkaes aeras and the like...with your barrels do you prefer a bottom washer or no...i have a feeling that it would let me run my trucks firmer but have a fuller range of motion without one.

Don't need a lower washer on Aera's cause it's BUILT IN!

Sorry, had to let people know.

It makes the bushings runs the way they were supposed to. Having them sag over the sides though it does increase turn ability and makes the truck super divey, it doesn't translate well into stability.

Munkaes don't come with bottom washers as the baseplates are wide enough to hold a barrel. Also I think they were designed so a bottom washer wasn't needed. I tried to add one just to shim the angle up higher but it screws with the angle of the hanger and the KP won't go through.

yup, no washers in monkaes with venoms. there's the slightest bit of the barrel hanging over but it doesn't feel any different.

Slightest bit is all good, but in the case of Kahas it's nearly half of the overall bushing that sags.

    i've never run kahas though.

one thing i've wondered about too is if you cut off a small piece of the bushing to fit a washer in without messing up the hanger angle. my guess is that it would make it feel slightly harder but if someone really wanted a washer they could try it.

With the new kaha base plates are more washer friendly then the old ones. Having the old ones with venoms i don't use washers.

Not much overhang with Kahas IMO

I guess I could try a thin washer to check if I feel any difference...

i have newer kahas, no washers. 184mm

no problems with stability or anything. feels sexy, minimal overhang like blix showed.

i frankly doubt id feel a huge diff if i put washers on, but it looks so sexy washerless...

kevin, i seriously wish i had known u woulda made 180mm aeras before i bought my kahas!

So you are saying older Kahalanis have a baseplate offering less support for the bottom bushing? Just to make it clear.

Yeah, there's definately more overhang on my baseplates.
I like the feeling, Everybody complains how sketchy my set-up is when they see my bent axles, my pivot that screws out by hand and now the shitty bushing seats...meh I have fun going +60mph.
I don't crash because of it and I surf the #### out of sweepers, I'm happy.

Somebody has a set of Aera's in Montreal, I'll give em a try, but they're 210's
With extra bushing support and wider hanger they should way less carvy then my kaha's but there's only one way to find out.
