baseplate angles
So I'm planning on getting a set of Cindrich trucks but was just wondering, what degree baseplates do you recommend for heavy dh on a killswitch?
I won't be doing anything other than dh on this deck so was thinking either 45* front and 40* rear or 40* all round, what do you reckon? Baseplate options are: 35*, 40*, 45* and 50*.
Also, how would Cindrichs compare to Aeras? I'm still a lil bit undecided between the two...

Re: baseplate angles
I would say If your not sure what degree base to get, your not ready.

Re: baseplate angles
Cindrich are no special geometry. They are just lowered inline split axle trucks with good bushing seats. Aeras have a different geometry and don't have different angle options. Read through the official thread to find out how they ride. If you are unsure you may not be ready for precision trucks.
What angle totally depends on you. We can't tell you what works for you. I used to just follow the OMG I need 42/42 for pwnage DH awesomeness. Come to find out I really don't like all the crazy lean -45 plates have and feel sketchy because of it. I make light adjustments when riding at speeds with a solid tuck so 50/50, 50/35, and 45/35 with harder duro bushings in the back trucks work best for me.
I tend to go 50/50 so I can have more versatility out of my DH deck as I'm not racing any time soon.
You should probably invest in a set of 50* randal or Paris trucks and then get two 42* and one 35* Randal plate and play around. That's what I did.

Yea I knew someone was going to say that, its what people say in almost every thread I've looked at on precisions. It's just not very helpful...
Sure I might not be ready but if I have the cash to drop than thats besides the point. I brought it down to two options and was hoping someone with experience with Cindrichs and how they ride could give some help.

Thank you. I'll def try that!
Can anyone else help out?

Re: baseplate angles
Yep, try the Randals on for size. And then when you're ready to throw away your 42* plates because you're buying your Cindrich ones, let me know.

How did you narrow down the options to these two?

From the trucks that I have ridden plus the info I have been gathering off this forum and others including PMs.
Also for the dh I will be doing I'd feel more comfortable on something lower than 50* and I feel 35* will be too low of a degree for me. That leaves the options I said other than 45*/45* which now I think about it would feel similar to my crails and thats pretty good too...

Re: baseplate angles
Look up Shift on SF. He has a KS with 40º plates and gen 1 Cindrich hangers. In your case, I would do 45º front and rear. You still get turn, with extra lean. If all your doing is long dh, that would be a good setup. If you are headed toward freeride, go with 50º. Shift likes those better than his Munkaes, which are now on my freeride board.

Re: baseplate angles
i own a set of cindrich trucks and ran them top mounted on 45/45 and really like the feel. right now i have them on a drop deck using randal plates. the nice thing about cindrich trucks is they are compatible with the randal baseplates. so you have a lot of options outside of just his baseplates. although they do fit a lot nicer in his baseplates. my suggestion is to either go with your gut feeling and if you don't like the baseplates sell them and buy something else. or just buy the hangers and mess around with some randal baseplates till you find what you like and buy his baseplates later.

Seems like the best idea for you. Find what angle/s you like before committing to precision plates.
