Default What makes an Avenger better for DH than a boomerang?

I always see people say they ride Avengers as their DH board. I also see some Mystery Models which makes sense. But I rarely see people say they use Boomerangs as their primary DH board. If its that same length as the (09) Avenger and its darn stiff then why not? What makes the Avenger better? Thanks. I just want to get some info because I'm looking into these boards.

It would be cool if Brian would make a non cambered stiff Boomerang...

Yea the boomerang isn't that stiff and has pretty mellow concave. Also it's a bit on the skinnier side.

I wish EW would make a DH dropthrough. The 'cave on my bigfoot is delicious, but I want a dropthrough DH board. And no, I won't cut a MM, I'm too lazy and I'd just mess it up. I suck at tool use, you should see the state my house is in.

But it's not flexy either (says Mr. 200#).

It's...perfect: for everything except what an MM would be better at. See how that works?

My setup is a 44" Skull Skates Comet, Invader 183s ridden VERY loose, Powell G-Bones 97A. Any ideas on what I could do?

boomerang isnt made for bombing mountain roads, its made for carving/sliding down hills and having a good time. its got mild concave, camber, and flex- all which makes it not great for downhill. Though if you're small and really light like little brian- it can work for downhill.

If you want to go fast, go with a mystery model or avenger.

    +1 on the avenger.
I'm 6'2" 230 and it's perfect. For someone smaller it would only be better.

the new avenger has the pleasure dome w cave for those with the suitable tuck (euro, c2, whatever). is sure don't, so i got the 07 version. the MM just pwns for those with the (again) more suitable tuck for a board without a big lump on the latter half of the board (hayabusa, american, weird tucks like man, etc). I've tried both, and this is my explanation.

oh yeah, and the avenger has the little cut-out so you can be more lazy about dragging your board back up the hill. ;P
