First the DH race sucks and second the nemmy has a pretty small wheelbase and is not all that stable. As a newb get something with a long wheelbase (32-35") like an old avenger or an evo. And skate within your limits.

The Nemesis' wheelbase is variable between 32" and 33" is it not?

Doesn't the Nemmy have a super long wb? And if it's not stable, then why are people Dh-ing on it? Oh wait, that's right, that's relative to the USER.

Hmm the nemmy is a great board, Id recommend it. The wheelbase is fine and the board is really stable. The board is also great for freeride. You can also use larger wheels because of its drop, over a topmount.

I'd suggest taking a look at some Soda Factory boards. Heard nothing but good things about any of their boards, and I'll be getting one myself in the next couple of weeks.

Also, Comet makes absolutely great downhill boards. If you're new and looking for a more stable ride, a drop-through Pagan will suit you just fine.
