How do you feel about slalom boards in DH races?

meh, #### racing. i've stopped caring about going super duper fast on open roads, i just find the risk of charging too hard and finding youself on the wrong side of a car too great. love to just jam down tho.

This thread is about Slalom set ups in DH races... Why "Steeze,robotics,and soul carving" have invaded it, I do not know... Racing is about getting from point "A" to point "B" in the least amount of time. If the main concern is "don't I look good in that still photo" them your perception of racing is fogged by the vainess to pose for a camera.. Is this a fashion show? Or a sport?

Racing is racing.. the word "style" is reserved for the discipline of "freestyle" Dancing and other forms, but I won't derail this thread's original intent..

Some of the top racers are gifted to look good while racing, others look "robotic". In the end, it's who did it fastest.. I'd much rather be 1st in a race than to boast about being 15th"but looking good"

I have no preference to Maryhill, it's just the only hill around here that's dry... When I get back to Arizona I plan to take it on MANY more hills.

Siegrist has the most awesome DH style I've ever seen. Mischo is rad too. There's something hypnotic about that kind of purity of riding. "Fun" is a matter of personal perception. The views of the observer are irrelevant.

Why do you take racing so seriously?
Where just a bunch of guys who like to save up a bunch of cash to travel and skate down fun hills.

2) shorter wheelbases are indeed becoming more common, see the killswitch and patrick switzer's dh board. i think in terms of "All around" bombing theres a limit to how small you can go (fitting on the board in your tuck, drifting etc). although im more tempted to say screw slalom boards, the wave of the future is gonna be racing popsicles!! (see: rizzo, jm, ethan lau) cuz those are short as #### and u can slide the #### out of them!

They were all skateboards until someone started making longboards.
