Sounds good, I was trying to get to into it with mass times gravity and normal and tangential forces etc, but you summed it up fine thx

Re: Downhill Questions
How do you counter drafts? I usually lead the pack 3/4 of the race and on the last stretch people draft on me the they slingshot! Which leaves me weeping at second place. There must be a way to at least counter the draft. Thanks guys!

Re: Downhill Questions
I'm surprised no one brought up ceramic bearings. With less rolling resistance they accelerate faster and have a higher top speed. I don't know about other brands, but when the metal parts in Bones Swiss Ceramics wear out, you can take out the ceramic balls and put them in a new, cheaper Bones bearing.

For the price, they don't improve your ride that encridbly.
Bones Swiss
Bones Super Swiss 6
and other variants are the best for price and usablitly.
Obviously ceramics are a lot better, but i could never justify the price

I'll stick to getting 15 sets of my $5 bearings for the same price. Then I can go ride in the rain and not give a ****, and just throw em away when they cease. Cheap bearings are what's up.

Highly doubt the wheels are attracting the dust... its the lube.

Haha. I'm sorry, but that has to be one of the dumbest things I've heard in a while. Different wheels "attract dust and dirt like a magnet" more than others? You do realize that's physically impossible, right? Getting the most expensive bearings is not worth it. Buy like 10 sets of VXBs for 5 dollars a set on EBay and they'll last longer.

well the point i was trying to make was that the sizes of the races and ball bearings are identical to the point where i accidentally got everything mixed together.
sorry about the confusion.

Using the Brazilian tuck makes it really hard for people to draft you. Although its not good at high speeds. And if that doesn't work then let out a big nasty fart.... that should get them off you.

Re: Downhill Questions
Errrr
Right, want me to show you what my wheels look like after an hour skating? They're super muddy, i was mearly saying that maybe Bones Swiss Lab, with their extra sheild, and better protection, would work better to make my bearings last long. Just for a note, i've got a set of bones swiss, that i've been using for almost a year now and they still spin with more speed than brand new cheap bearings. So uhh, yeah Swiss > Cheap tyvm. Also in the UK, Bones Swiss are super expensive, so if i can pick up some bones swiss labs for only $60, i'm going to aren't i? Meh, my personal preference if you guys don't like it then swivel.
The other thing is that, the "attract dust and dirt like a magnet and may last longer than normal bones swiss" The 'like' in that sentence, made the following a simili which, means that it's not actually real, it's just like it really. I've ran many wheel on my longboard, but imo Speed Vents become so dirty too quick, around the inner bearing bit, and i don't think it's lube really. I use speed cream mainly.

Re: Downhill Questions
Must be the vents on the speed vents attracting the dirt I reckon.
I had some of them bones swiss ceramics labryinth bearings, they were nice for about 2 weeks then I rode them in the rain and they rusted solid on the axle. Only bearings I've ever had do that...
You going to the Exeter chinese DH race dude? Should be fun! 15 man heats! That'll show you if anything has improved eh?
