    Default shin pads

Anyone skate with shin pads. It's too hot here to wear leathers at the moment, and skating in my body armour, long denim shorts and knee pads left me with a deep cut and bruising on my shin recently when I fell.

Does anyone use them, think I'm gonna if I don't have leathers on.

i used to, then i stopped, but i wish i didnt.

im layed up for a week because of the 5 stitches i got in my shin after a botched toe side pendy with an avenger caused the board to come up and smack me right in the shins hard enough to spilt it right open.

Shin guards are more for old school freestylin'. Normally you wear them under tube socks. (not filled with semen)

Ok guys, can see where this is going,

Theres an urban section of closed of roads, about a mile and a half of downhill, but it's all junctions, or intersections to you guys, but it's full of sign posts, so if you miss a turn, you're gonna get it, sign posts and sh!t.

Opened my shin up on a no entry sign, so was just wondering if anyone used shin pads.

No need to get all retro on me you lot.

A simple yes or no would have done.

Well, don't leave it up to us. Be innovative. If you need them, wear them. If you have a reason to wear them, go for it. It's been a long time since I've bashed my shins. I personally wear minimal protection gear. Helmet and gloves. The more I wear, the more restricted I feel.

I wear them downhill mtn biking. Prob. wouldn't hurt to try them downhill skating? I wouldn't be ashamed to wear shin and forearm guards over leathers, but it is starting to get colder too. Glad someone brought this up.

I like them a lot but they don't help for slamming at all. Like, no padding at all. I really really hurt my knee in some. If you think you're mostly going to be sliding out e.g. DH I would definitely use them. Guard rails are exciting when wearing shin pads.
