yep, harder in back than in front, and split duros harder bottoms than tops.
with the wedge/dewedge it really helps the feel to run harder in back.

Re: Same duro bushings vs. different
it depends on what setup im riding and what features i want.
on my slalom deck im running 5 (2 cone bottoms on a bennett) bushings that are 3 different duros and all different shapes which makes for different compression features. but on front and back, my bottom bushing is softer and the top is harder to provide more rebound and a lot of lean,
for dh i have 3 duros 80a front and a 86a bottom and 85a top. the rear is 86/85 because i ran out of 86a big zigs to cut into my desired shape.
having the same duro (more importantly in the same formula) really gives a consistent turn. the two bushings compress the same way and rebound the same way. granted i have a fat radikal shape on bottom and a barrel on top so it's a bit different but i love the feel of it.
in back there is a 1a difference on my deck which is not totally noticeable, but the real difference maker is that the bottom is a homemade 86a radikal shape and the top is a 85a venom. the venom has a higher rebound which is felt, so the different formulas make a difference more than duro on my setup.

Re: Same duro bushings vs. different
For me the rule is always 'x' duro all around except for one 'y' (slightly softer) duro in the front-top position. Always feels awesome.

Re: Same duro bushings vs. different
the only reason i split duros is because i dont want to got too hard but a little harder than whats in there or vice versa. i can never feel the difference between the actual bushings it feels like the mean of the 2 duros are in there. but than again ive only tried this with duros split by like 5"a". and im a noob lol.

Re: Same duro bushings vs. different
I tend to use different duro's in all four positions.
I often run different shapes in different positions.
I often use different brand (urethane formulas) in different positions.
It is all user preference.

I know, that's why I'm asking for the users preference. Just seeing what people like about each.

Re: Same duro bushings vs. different
So i've got a demonseed with R-2's and yellow kiros and i'm starting to think i need to change my bushings because the board kind of falls into turns rather than progressing into them. I'm going to flip my hangers as well, because i should have done that a while ago but does anyone have advice as to what bushings fit randall 2's well and if i need to mod the bushings or add washers ect. Also, should i maybe get new trucks, or is this unneccessary? Thanks

Re: Same duro bushings vs. different
i just got venoms 90a bottom and 87a top which is good.
i was using opaque yellow randal cones which felt like #### with little rebound and no lean

flipping your hanger will not liven up your trucks, it will create a dead spot. also khiros are not the liveliest bushings especially in yellow, get yourself some other bushings like venoms or reflex. these will give a livelier feel. if you are of average size go with something 90a or softer double barrels.
if you want more lean then use a flat washer on bottom. for more restriction use a cupped washer.
so get venom/sabres/reflex in 90a or softer, leave the hanger unflipped, if necessary get a longer kingpin.

depending on how fast you are going and your stability probobly like 90-95a. im like 100 lb and ride 79a's for like 35mph dh. also you may want a stepped bushing. look at the new to dh thread and i believe there is a bushing explination.
