Default Racing Ettiquette: Love your host!

I've thrown two races basically by myself now, and without fail, there's always people bitching about the rules. I'm the one going out of my way to advertise this, get sponsors, and come up with all of the rules (most of which I ask for input on) but without fail there's always some people who are never satisfied. Does this happen to you guys when you plan races? How do you go about it? I'm sort of at the point where I'm thinking if you don't like my rules plan your own race, or don't come.

This isn't intended to be a call out as much as a discussion with a rest of the skateboarding world. What is your experience?

If you already make them by the input of others, dont bother with the unhappy peeps....they will always exist, no matter wich rules you apply!
We had a race where footpush was limited, in a certain area, and there were a few upset about this stating that pushing was one of their strong points, and therefore, they were being limited against others.
We went on with the rule....

Just do what feels logical to you...in the end you are right, dont like the rules, dont enter the race!

it is impossible to please everyone all the time,if you did your best to make the majority happy then that is all you can do.

I'm sort of at the point where I'm thinking if you don't like my rules plan your own race, or don't come.
exactly correct, and chances are those that complain will show up anyway.

there is always going to be some dbag bitching about something. ignore it bro, those same people are the people that moan and complain that they can't use two coupons on one meal or that their food is 5 minutes late.. ignore their immature bullshit.

props to you on hosting races though.

Bigger picture - it happens everywhere with everything. Your race hosting is just a microcosm of the world in general. Hosting events, running a business (basement guy to behemoth conglomerate), waging a war, teaching a class, raising a family... it's lonely at the top and one statement rings true in all cases. You can please some of the people all the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please everyone all the time. There's always a few that have to bitch because they think it should be done different but you'll not see them volunteer to head something up themselves or open their own business.

Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way. (another favorite saying of mine )

... almost sprained my finger due to speed wobble (Fusrodah)

... wheels need to be round to roll well. (aloysius)

... my haters are my motivators. (Ellen DeGeneres)

By that logic, Negative Action = Talk >_> (edit: guess this makes sense. Didn't at first. Not talking = acting, not acting = talking. Shut up and skate etc)

Yeah anyways, it'd be hard to have a race without those types of people. Gotta deal with it somehow D:
