how would you set up a double drop?
hey so ive got one of these

its actually this one,,,but you can see the shape better in the above photo

anyway,,how to set it up????
i know the answer will be dependent on what im gonna use it for!! well its gonna be for dh and i wanna set it up so it doesnt bottom out.
ive got various trucks available from kookys, kahas, randals, cindrichs in both geometries, aeras and a few other things. ive got all the cindrich angle base plates.
ive got plenty of bushings to play with and ive got lots of wheels from avilas, rfs, flys, speedvents, inheats, bigzigs, durians, stimulus, 4pres, etc etc
what do you guys think??? i weigh about 80kilos
thanks in advance if you take the time to help,,,,i did search the forums but didnt find what i was looking for.

Re: how would you set up a double drop?
play with your setup until you find what you want. i mean how is someone going to say that a certain set up is "best", it's all personal.
just stay away from super low stuff that can lead to rail bite, so probably no inline axles.

Re: how would you set up a double drop?
since you've got them all, play around with them all and see what you like.
no two people are identical.
there aren't many other ways we can help you...
oh yeah, kahas may be a little too low for double-drops, especially with that much of a drop.
and durians aren't the best dh wheels i've tried.
and the carbon fibre-wrapped version in the background of the first picture almost made me jizz my pants.

Re: how would you set up a double drop?
If it were me, I'd try randals and 77mm RF's
I have a bunch of skateboards
Isn't this what you're supposed to put in a signature?

the cindrichs, stim shaped bottoms ,barrel tops and a 77-80mm wheel
neither side is wedged on those decks is it?
am i correct in saying the drop is about 1.5 inches?

ive got 74mm and 81mm rfs,,,am gonna give it a shot manana with the randals and cindrichs...this board is nuts its sooooo low. the point of my post wasnt to find the BEST set up but to find one that would stop the board bottoming out in turns..haha
when ive got a basic set up that does that then i can dial it in a bit more
thanks for the replies tho

Re: how would you set up a double drop?
I have a Carbon foam filled Project Speed Board as well, and have had it set up many ways. With Randal 50* I could use 75mm wheels but with Zealous, I'm running 83mm wheels. Also remember you can alway mount it regular and not dropped thu. I love the tub concave and how wide they are.. right now I actually cruise on it and have it set up with 50* front plates and the rear is topmounted with a 42 plateproject speedboard bottom.jpg

Re: how would you set up a double drop?
yeah those boards are really low,i think i remember reading its about a 1.875 inch drop,if it seems way to low there is no harm in top mounting it.
