Default has anyone does this with their concave

Tanner at bombsquad was messing around with forming concave with random stuff. gluing on wood, and sanding it down - things of that nature.

anyway i got some paint stirring sticks from home depot, and tried something new. I've always wondered what arch support for my front foot would feel like. and i wanted more toe side leverage. so i did this:

first i had it taped over the grip tape (i'm not known for patience). lots of turning in tuck leverage, a little weird pushing, but overall very comfortable. hard to keep my foot in palce for heel side pendies and pre-drifts, but i think thats more about not having grip there because of the tape. so i carefully put it all under the grip and am going to try it more. just curious if anyone has seen this or done it before? i think that i'll probably stick with it.

Pretty standard setup in slalom. Would not be IGSA race-lega for downhilll, safety issues with random chunks of metal on boards. Slalomers often mount a barrel bushing on a longer truck-mounting screw for their foot to rest against, ie, the bushing is on the deckside. Creating your own w-concave is simple - cut it out of foam and deckgrip over the top. The same for a kicker/'gas pedal' at the tail. Just please be aware of safety issues. A lot of mods are not a good thing to have flying at your body at high speeds. Specifically, cut-down decks ending in a point or anything metal that protrudes.

    what? this post confuses me
anyways to the op georges siddiqi did something like that for his back foot
he called it his boardpon or something like that because it looks like he gripped over a tampon for better toe grip through toeside turns and predrifts

He's not talking about the foot stop thats made of metal, He's talking about the raised areas under the grip tape

And I'm pretty sure a toestop like that is perfectly legal in an IGSA race.

I'm fairly certain P-Swiss used a metal toestop at Maryhill as well this year...

He's also talking about the mod to the concave. Look under the grip.

    Yeah!
i love customizing my boards for me!
I would stick anything under like paper and risers the stuff you peel off the grip.
    Feels good.

Alright, I see it now. It's pretty difficult to see what he was referring to in the picture.

Regarding IGSA rules - they do mention something about no metal protrusions in their rules, but they probably let it slide in reality. You often see guys riding IGSA races in helmets that don't have chin protection (just a large visor that covers the lower face), even though the rules stipulate that they're not legal. The same for Switzer's use of a pointed slalom board at Maryhill, there's a rule about dangerous shapes in there somewhere too. I think they just apply common sense when it comes to race day.

As for arch support concave on the avenger. If you like it, do it. Personally I wouldn't want anything but a nice comfy hole for my front foot because I footbrake a lot, and I think it would make my front footplant a little more sketch. That's just me though.
