help me pick out a DH board!!

lets say that you have all the boards on this site to pick one out, which one would you take? No Evos, I tried it and I don`t think that its a board for me.

I would get the Voodoo-09 (Which is really the Voodoo XL).

This is my advice to you: Pick one you like, buy it, ride it, and come to this site as little as possible (so as to save yourself from worrying about rep bars and post counts and "what wheel slides best" and a whole world of ignorance and nonsense).

I say off that site go with the Landyatchz drop speed. Definitely a super versatile board and still awesome for dh

I think you are missing a little bit there in your question. A good board can be ruined by a bad set up, and taking into consideration you don't know what style of board you want, i.e. drop thro, drop, top mount etc, then I would assume you don't know what set up you're gonna put on it, or then again maybe you do..........

You don't say why you don't like the Evo, to narrow, to wide, split truck angles???

There is so much to chose from.

I didn't really get a feel for what I wanted until I'd started going moderately fast, then I found that what I thought I liked (double drop) should have been a top mount.

What suits one, doesn't always suit another.

well righ now I ride a home made drop thru board on randal 180 50* front and 42* back with venom DH bushings, landy monsterhawg wheels. The fastest I`ve gone was about 70-80 km/h (40-50mph), but I generaly prefer roads wit lots or turns. What I don`t like in evo is that it kinda feels like kinda akward under my feet, and I really don`t see myself riding it on twisty roads. But still, I would like a stable board, for those speed runs as well. The reason I`m pointing out only this website is that a frind of mine gets a nice disscount there so...otherwise my first choice would be the avenger but they don`t sell rayne longboards there.

If you like the drop-thru style already I stand behind the Drop Speed. It'll drift and slide like butter around those turns and still be stable when you taking it down straights. Just pop a venom barrel in those randals or 2 and you'll be good to go for turns and speed.

Id go for the Madrid Concave Downhill (really is the Madrid Drop 41), it will treat you right.

If you want a top mount I'd get the Comet Voodoo 09.

Well that helps. I run the Avenger 08 on Smokies JimZ bushings and purp 4Pres. It has drift and grip all in one. I would suggest that what you are proposing is false economy. If your first choice is the Avenger then get that, rather than buying a compromise just because you get a discount, and then buying the Avenger in any case, and ending up with a 'spare' board that you don't really want.
