drop thru speedboard/freeride recomends

hey dudes,
i am looking to buy a new DH freeride/race board. im looking at the kebbek smooth-cut comet FSM or LBL tarpon. id love to here all the pros and cons of these boards and any recommends as well.


P.S. i kno there are loads of these threads on the 'fish but i am really stuck.

Check out the Landyachtz Dropspeed. Also, for freeriding I don't know how the Tarpon would be. I've never ridden it, but I know a symmetrical board is usually preferred for freeriding.

I have an Fsm with bears red and yellow eliminators and some purple stimulus. best set up i have ever owned alot of rebound actually to much going to switch to barrels. the board is stable up to 35 with loose trucks, I have never gone to higher speeds with it. It does stand up slides so smooth and the wheels break free really easilly and grip good enough for me. the board is really responsive and the rocker just locks my feet in. if you get a fsm i suggest getting vicious grip any griptape will work but it is fun to have gnar griptape.

love the look of the clutch boards but i cant seem to find there website.
and the dropspeed is nice but a cant get on with w concave

i love big tubs or rocker

any more boards to check out

im 6.1 ft so have a long tuck so nothing smaller then 40 and ride really lose Randall trucks

look up the fullbag speed styler it is longer than the fsm i think and has rocker.

yeah i do like it but i dont know about the nose (point) and not much rocker if any. tanks tho.


i just found te never summer soilder any thoughts ns are commercial but it looks good????

the soldier is somewhat solid, but i delammed one jumping around on it, so the construction isn't that completely solid. I would say get a rayne nemesis, comet fsm, landy switch/dually, or Kebbek Hairpin if you can get yer hands on one. my number one choice would be the nemmy.

the nemmy most definitely does not have a w. it has a fat tub cave in fact. i was just riding one like a half an hour ago. still no. 1 recommended for freeride and downhill.

the dropspeed is pretty flat in the middle of the board and the concave is more toward the rails. not really too W-like

i have the FSM and i HIGHLY recommend it!!!! only been up to about 40 but its very stable at speed and the rocker/concave locks my feet in so tight!!! this is by far my favorite board ive ever ridden.

The dropspeed is pushable with either foot. The w is very slight and centered in the dead center of the board which gives a faux-cambered appearance from the side.

Both have rocker, and no w-cave.

Its a symetrical drop-thru board which is great for freeriding, but it is also stiff enough to be doing DH on.

all these suggested boards shall not fail yous for freeriding and whatnot. don't take the drop speed out of your silly head though! I used it as a main DH board as well as my designated freeride board and it excelled for both.
