terms: roadsnakes

I was sharing a car ride with an exski buddy of mine, who is now real big into Harleys, and he commented on the "roadsnakes" as we drove down the road. Said they reach up and sometime grab the front wheel of motorcycles and with rookie riders, they could "high side." Bad stuff, Hmmmm.....

Now, in skiing we have "snowsnakes", they reach up and grab your ski and then you auger in. They grab you whenever it seems like a good time, most skiers that have spent any amount of time "off piste" understand and have had that happen.

Now, is there such a thing in longboarding? I have already noticed that there is quite a difference in asphalt according to age, traffic wear, directional aspects, repair work(chip sealing, ugh), and slope.

Maybe you guys just call it a "shitty" road, heck I don't know? What say you guys?

Hah that's interesting. To me road snakes would be those cracks filled with tar that you find on crappy pavement. They kinda look like snakes and when you put a hand down to slide what usually happens is those tar snakes rip your pucks off.

road turtle=?, you wouldn't actually mean a real turtle? Seriously, loose dogs can be problem, and if you where to ride in our mountains, deer, elk, antelope, and moose would be a problem at certain times.

hes referring to the plastic reflectors that divide lanes on a road. There often rounded like the top of a turtle shell

They put those damm things in our favorite garage.we started popping them off in the corners

Road turtles make good slide pucks if you pop them off and attach the flat side to your glove. Lot of work though and they are heavy. Just something constructive to do with all those extra turtles you have now.

o ya, mobbin down a mountain pass at 50 when this bear tried bump drafting, claws tore me up something fierce.

I looked at that and saw man made, the spacing was too perfect and consistent.
