I'm pretty sure a bearing is a bearing.

No offense but most of them are the same crap with different labels on them.

If you really think bearings matter that much you can go ahead and buy the expensive ones and be a noob. Whatever makes you sleep better at night.

Real racers know that it doesn't matter what type of bearing they are because they all do the same thing. The only thing I look for are good seals as well. That is why I don't run biltins on my speedboard anymore. The biltins just fill with crud while sealed bearings keep smooth for months.

When a hill is giving you your propulsion and there are no flat sections a bearing will not matter. A clean bearing will definitely give you an advantage.

I have noticed a difference in some bearings like greaseballs and bones bearings on flat sections though.
P.S. Who cares what other people ride? Most people ride equipment because they are sponsored and usually have to run them or want to support a company. I am pretty sure you will never catch Chaput running anything but biltins as well as the Roger bros.

they drift so amazingly on airpins and corners, yet you still have perfect control.

they are close to wheelbite, but im too light to push them any further.

ahhhh you smelly old twunt. I LOVE MY BILTINS for DH. pop some Pleasure Tool seals in them and its much harder for them to get dirty.

as fer bearings... I agree about the seals point. good seals that keep out the miniscule #### are well worth it, I've always found that I kill cheapo bearing too quick and the mid-upper level bearings tend to be the best bang for the buck (reds, swiss, nothin' over 30 hux) as I get the most time out of them. It sounds like a lotta people rock & dig the MHS bearings that come with completes... haven't used them yet, but plan to

I got a set of Speedy Lunatics free with a set of Alligators before Xmas and decided to use them for downhilling...after a day of skating I ordered a few more sets from Mark to use on other boards as I replace dead/dieing bearings, my park setup and my dancer to start with. I like them, they are fast and don't have as much slop as Reds do. At the price Mark charges I'll be putting a least one set into every order i make from him

To be honest, i have my clb custom with swiss ceramics, but like four boards with reds. the ceramics clean really nicely and hold speed better on flat, but for speed, i'd say wheel hardness makes a bigger difference

I was wondering about the speedy lunatics because they are so cheap. I ordered a set of Lemon BigZigs and got Reds because they looked like a good mid-level bearing.

One bearing that I think doesn't get enough respect in DH is Ninja.

Ninja 5s and 7s are some of the best bearings I've ever owned as far as speed and precision. If you don't want to spring for Swiss, but you want a killer bearing, the Ninjas are a awesome.
