So, finally most of the snow is gone here in Norway and some real skating can happen. After some runs on the decks I`ve purchased this winter, I needed to make some changes.
My Rogers Bros DH36 with Kaha`s didn`t work for me for some reason, so I put Parises on it instead, and it came alive! Kaha`s on the Hellcat seems to work out pretty good as well, but I haven`t had a chance to really try it for real yet, we`ll see.
Super low with 66mm Zigs

Well, the problem is most likely me But I just didn`t like how it felt, it felt sluggish and didn`t turn as I like, the Parises took care of that.. At higher speeds it might be different of course, but I`m just not there yet..... But I tried the Hellcat a bit now, and it feels better, seems I prefer a larger deck to gain a bit more leverage over the trucks or something...

I do not think it is the leverage(you should have less leverage on the hellcat compared to the 36), and they should feel more sluggish on a board with longer WB. But it's all preference! Hope your new setups will work for most stuff you throw at them
Next time I'm in Oslo I'll bring my 36 and pick up my leathers for some serious testing of the board, should be loads of fun I'll give you a call when I'm closer to some hills!

You`re right, leverage is not it, maybe it`s just me feeling safer on a larger deck.. Weird thing is that I feel more confident on the DH36 with the Parises, which in theory is way less stable than Kaha`s. It `s probably because I have Paris or Randals on most of my decks, and I`m being put off by how the Kaha`s feel compard to them. Preference for sure... But then again, Kaha`s felt pretty good on the HC. ...I`m not deciding before I`m more confident at higher speeds.
Yeah, give me a call, while I can`t handle hills like you, I can always try.
yo do you guys think that indy 215's(dewedged front and back) and a dh36 would be a pretty fun setup?
ive been craving to experiment out of the norm lately
I learned DH topmounted on 215s. No dewedging.
My kid rides an Avenger with 215s. No dewedging.
They're absolutely incredible topmounted on any 10"+ wide board (regardless of wheelbase). Awesome control for under $50 trucks.
Bones hardcore bushings, duro to taste. These bushings are made for Indys. The geometry is spot-on, thereby keeping a more "precise" feel.
Better than the Indy bushings themselves....
If you run them on a drop-thru and wedge/dewedge, you have the option to get extremely low. Still best topmounted, IMO.
I'm hoping to order a 2009 hellcat, 42/42 randals, earthwing smokers, and doing a 90a eliminator bottom, 90a venom barrel top. If all my board selling goes through of course. Should be a sick ride, I was thinking about going sector 9 race formulas instead but i really want to try out the new earthwings. I'm also getting some vicious grip with it too so that should be fun to give a go too
EDIT: Do you think 50/50 might be better?

raceformulas are amazing IMO, what size/duro are you looking at?
i was looking at the 74mm 78a ones, my reasoning on that over the 76mm ones are that i really liked how my big zigs rode (nice carving) with the offset compared to my flywheels which were centerset. I know there's thane differences in all that but speaking strictly wheel shape i preferred the big zig esque shape so i was more drawn to the 74mm. That was kind of an unnecessary story for a simple answer haha

get the 80a.....i just got the 81mm in 82a and they are amazing, smooth drifts and nice grip aswell....i also have lime bigzigs (80a) and they grip amazingly...so if i were you id go 80a haha
i was just going 78a cause its all they had in stock on the site im ordering from haha, i'm still really tempted by the smokers though, they look like a blast

ahh sick! i think i still might use thin risers though since indy's are set lower than randals and paris' and stuff
for some reason my friend still gets bite on randal 42's w/ his dh40 setup he's workin on
