mannnn. so the hairpin i got was an 8-ply and i was like "mannnn" and kind of skeptical because im a heavier guy

set it up with prandals 42 and lime freerides

stood on it and it flexed a little. i feel it when i stand on it stationary but when i ride its more "ride dampening" if anything. however its 30.8" wheelbase felt perfect for my tuck

should i be worried about a little flex at higher speeds? like yeah i know flex wobble and all but just wanted some opinions from more hardcore dh'ers

depends on how much it's flexing. if it just barely moves under your weight you're fine, if it's anything more than that it could take some getting used to but should still do just fine.

I put a layer of 8 oz fiberglass on the bottom of mine and now the flex is very minimal.

So you just go to the store and ask for 8oz Fiberglass in a can or something then paint it on? I might consider doing this for my Voodoo too.

Fiberglass is not a liquid, but it is measured by the oz, i dont know why.

Fiberglass is a cloth that you apply to a anything with epoxy resin or polyester resing or whatever.

It is basically a really strong glue that hold on the cloth, which gives it more structural strength

    Nice setup!
Why do you have the wheels setup like a slalomboard? More grip?

reinforcement cloth is measured by the amount of resin/epoxy it takes to wet out 1 sq yard IIRC. 8oz is heavy. 4-5 oz should do fine for a bottom stiffening layer

well i thought that if i have 78a back and 84a front my wheels would roll at an 81a speed, but would still grip like if i had all 78a wheels.

for slalom. emphasis for grip is in the rear.

for dh. emphasis for grip should be in the front

I'm diggin' that setup a lot. I see you're runnin' my favorite bushing setup. I suggest running the front flat though, you might like it more. But even if you don't, still a sick setup. 38" topmounts + Indy's rool

Go try that out and tell me how it goes.

Grip should ALWAYS be in the rear.

i'm not trying to be rude or anything but i was wondering why you think grip should be front focused in dh? due to my personal experience the front has a much harder time sliding out than the back. Do you think the preference has to do with riding style? Like i sorta understand the benefit of a grippier front if you like to predrift alot. But it makes more sense (to me anyway) to have a grippier back because i tend to footbreak late and try to surf the corners. Also i found that the board has a bit more "snap" into turns if the wheels are harder hence the harder wheels in the front. no disrespect or anything but i would really like to hear your opinion in this matter.

When I was running split duros (read: pointless) I tried grip in front and grip in back. Soft grippy wheels in front only slow you down IMO
If I were to go split duro again it'd be 86a front 80a back... but I don't like the way spit duros slide

Grip should be in the back. That's beyond the point because riding all wheels the same duro is the best way to go.

idk i was just thinking because when people use 6 wheels. its 2/4 for slalom and 4/2 for dh from what i've seen
