thats different. in that case if you have 4 contact points in the rear, and only two in the front you have muuuch more grip difference than what split duros give you, and if you slide out then most likely your rear will keep traction and your front end will slide around

Re: your dh setup
There's two scenarios to use 6 wheels in.
In a case where you should never slide (Slalom).
So with a 6 wheel slalom setup, you're never going to lose grip, but if you were to lose traction on a 6 wheel slalom setup, it would be difficult to control and what not. But since with this setup is in a slalom oriented environment, ideally you're never going to lose grip, so you don't have to worry about the uncontrollable sliding style.
But in a DH case, there are lots of chances that you will slide out even if you had two wheels in front and four in back.
The four front, two back setup is ideal for DH because when you drift, you're just trying to make a turn that your board is incapable of making.
Example: If you're going into a sharp hairpin that's so sharp, the radius of the corner is tighter than your boards turn radius, you have to pivot your back wheels around the front in order to re-angle the board from the entry angle to your preferred exit angle.
So with the four wheels in front and two in back, it's very easy to make much sharper turns, because it's easier to pivot the back wheels around the front.
In slalom, you're never going to need this type of ability, therefore, slalomers are trying to avoid slipping at all costs, so they put four in the back, but DH'ers, no matter what will come into a scenario where they need to drift, and 9 times out of 10, the only wheels you have to drift are the back ones, so they want the front to grip a lot and the back to be easier to push out.
All in all, having two in front and two in back, with both being the same shape, duro and size, is generally all you need.

.
Maybe, but the only reason you ever slide if you are trying to go through a turn with optimal speed is because you have all that energy going straight forward, and if you turn hard it has to go somewhere, and when you slide, it gets rid of the speed and momentum.
And you will hardly ever have a turn that is less than the radius of your board, and if there was one, you would have to go through it so slow that you wouldn't need to slide. If you went too fast and slid to "pivot" around the turn, you would just do a 180 and keep going straight the way that you started.
I see what you are trying to say, but I think it helps to have an even slide with all the wheels, or a little more grip in the back. All 4 wheels the same duro FTW!
Sorry for the run-on sentences

He's saying that the reason you slide when you go into a turn is because you take it too fast, not because it's too sharp to turn it. I can turn within the width of my street with my DH board but when I was at Buffalo Bill I was drifting turns that were twice as wide just because I was going into them too hot. If I were going slower I could have made the turn no problem.

Isn't he just relaying info that we all know already, but in a slighter more educated diction?
But his part about the 180 doesnt seem right...
