Yeah lots of wheels make swirls. I thought it was something to do with curing the thane but I could be ill informed.

To the 12 year old asking how to buy a 313.... Get a job. I know your young, but I was riding my bike delivering newspapers and caddying at the local golf course. #### adds up when you have no expenses. Its only a laborious 60 hours away

Urethane will swirl when the curing/cooling time is rushed. This happens in wheels like otangs, earthwing purethane, and apparently gravity burners. When the wheels are not allowed to cool for the correct amount of time, the urethane just has that funky characteristic. It doesn't effect the ride at all, just looks cool.

It usually happens when wheels are in high demand, and they need to be rushed off from the factory to the stores.

And yes it can affect the ride, it depends if the swirls are more or less dense that the non swirly bit.. I have wheels with swirly bits that evolved into ridges. and other wheels where the swirls were simply cosmetic.

Really... That's interesting, i've never seen that happen, but it seems super plausible.

my orange 4prez made swirl-ridges too. they're still my favorite wheels i've ever owned, tho.

the white 78mm monster hawgs i have swirled a ton, as well as my purple 4presidents.

Did you really need to copy/paste that? And wouldn't you be better served by creating your own thread if you didn't find it in the search you did (you did do one, right?).

On topic, lately I've been having a ton of fun on my 42* Prandals. I have them setup with lemon barrels bottom and orange Elims top. With BigZigs on the Nemesis it railbites in the most extreme carves, but I've only done it once so far.

I actually found alpines pretty stable for dh. They had a much stiffer feeling turn then randals. Maybe cause of a bushing setup but still pretty nice nonetheless.
