Re: your dh setup
I think it's awesome that Max and others are riding short wheelbases, because it makes other people try it, some of them like it and are better with it, and without max posting in this thread, some of those people may never have tried it. No need to be talking ####.

the problem is that trend followers on the silverfish begin to do what everyone else is doing and sacrificing stability to the point where its not even necessary. So now its turned into this huge super turny trucks orgy when the whole point of downhill skating is to have a stable setup hence the creation of 35* randals and most precision trucks. and remember, you arent good unless you can ride double 50 randals on a 25" wheelbase!!. Bullshit! ride whatever you want you want!!!

Consider two things:
People come on here (hopefully) for advice and to learn:
*If they learn that shorter wheelbases translate directly to maneuverability, and that's simply what they're looking for, what's wrong with buying a board with a shorter wheelbase? I wouldn't consider that following trends either.
If you can handle it:
*If you're able to handle a board with a shorter wheelbase, and topmounted on any IGSA course, why wouldn't you ride one? I definitely preferred my Loki Flush to my JimZ Pro Flushcut. Not because the Loki was more stable, but because I had the same comfort level with both boards. I could corner much better with the Loki and stick turns that I could never imaging sticking with the JimZ. I had to adjust my style to drifting really not even to technical turns on the JimZ just because it was so drifty that I could barely stick anything. That said, I could maintain speed much better with the Loki and would choose that board for most courses. I no longer race either of those decks. I now race a Mystery Model chopped, and a Nemesis for sprints. Both are just compromises of the other extremes.

Re: your dh setup
I dont get what the big deal is about this short wheelbase/loose truck business is
I mean what difference does it make if someone wants to follow max and have a shorter WB? There having fun doing it! Im just saying im not on any "side" here, but i just think its stupid how so many people think its the end of the world because someone uses a small wheelbase and others do the same, its just how people are. It doesnt affect anybody else. Sure it can get annoying seeing people brag about it or whatever they do, but its not really a big enough deal to start an argument about it in my opinion.
My vote is everyone should just get out and go skate and have some fun!
