Short wb ftw.

I ended up trying it just because my revenger broke and the only way I could ride it again was with a 28" wb... and it was EPIC: monster traction, effortless corner-entries, super-nimble drifting, awesome stability... more than enough to get me to buy a DH36 to replace the revenger. And I'm 6'5.

i like the control of shorter wheelbases. i never have and likely never will go over 32, and i wouldn't go under 28 for going fast right now, but 28-29 just feels great. still pretty stable feeling, but i like having the wheels a little closer in proximity to my feet, i think in some ways it feels even more stable because the wheels are just outside of my feet, giving me more control over the trucks. plus you can take much sharper corners with much more ease, and taking corners while going fast is what's fun. just my 2 cents. same goes for trucks, i can't stand anything but 50's, but that's probably because i've always ridden 50's except for a couple days when i tried 42's. anything but 50 throws my balance off because i'm not used to it and i like the amount of response that i get from 50 degree baseplates.

still, if someone likes a 34 inch on randal 35's thats great. if someone likes a 25 on paris or randal 50's, that's great too. it doesn't change my life in any negative way, so it doesn't bother me...

I didn't know wheelbases were such a big deal.
I honestly couldn't tell you particularly what the wheelbases are on any of my boards, including my older ramp boards. There's short, shorter, and too short (2short haha **** bitches/get$). Then there's long, longer, and too longduckdong. I think my Mercado board has a 28" setting, only cuz I've seen Pet cemetary mention it.
Different trucks change stuff all around anyway.
I couldn't even tell you my board's widths or lengths. Or really even the type of concave.
I read all that on here, but I can never remember any of the numbers.

step 3: keep it or trade it

it is a bit lacking. However I dig the shape of the board and the mellow middle hump helps you stay locked in on toeside pre drifts and what not. If i could change a few things I would make it 10 inches wide and make the concave a bit deeper. Other than that I really like it though.

See? Damnit this is my problem. I'm building the board around indies on cindys (lolol) and I cannot decide. I love rocker (loki) but I love getting my front foot over the front truck (slalom roots)

We have similar thinking...and I hear ya on both points of view.
I have them on a Mercado, an Asym, and I just traded my Caften for a Loki so I could run moar Indys/Cindys.

Bullsh!t I say! The concave is perfect! I don't like a lot of concave though so maybe I'm the weird one. This deck is so sick, my favorite topmount I've stood on. And me, being a slalomer too, love that I can get my foot over the front truck. And if you don't want to you can just move back.

The Loki and Mercado are my 2 favorite speedboards. If you want to be over the front truck get the Madrid. If you want to run any size wheel you would ever want get a Loki. FYI you can order a Loki in topmount too.
