Haha, except when footbraking the board is driving and I am in tow (goodbye shoe soles.) Funny and true story, I drift noticeably further and I can feel that it is the weight of the deck that causes it. Granted I have the antirisers on it and it is drop thru (and I am running without sphericals, etc.) When I kick out the back end on backside predrifts, the tail of the board almost feels like it's running away from me. The momentum this thing has is causing me to have to adjust my riding style a lot.

Nice setup green. How's the concave, and what did you decide to use in place of the spherical?

Also, do you happen to have any aesthetically battered 666 hangers that you'd want to let go for cheap? I don't care what they look like as long as the functionality is good.

I lathed a venom eliminator to fit perfectly inside the spherical cavity in the hanger. There are no more 666 trucks. I only made something like 15 sets and they were all sold a year ago.

With a JimZ hanger you don't need to run anything inside of it if you take the spherical out.

Cool thanks. Yah Venom thane feels really good as a spherical replacement. The softer the better IME, and leaving a bit of extra room to create a bottom bushing seat similar in depth to the top seat creates a really nice effect as well. More drift.

Haha Kevin, don't you find it super restrictive if you only run two bushings with no spherical (or urethane plug?) Also, would you run it spherical side up? That would just create the effect of a 3/4" deep bushing seat. I like running them spherical side down with a soft urethane plug.

How would adding material inside a tight space make the truck less restrictive?

Seems to me like some backwards thinking is abound!

Well think of it this way:
if you put super soft urethane in there, it isn't going to make it crazy restrictive, and it'd allow you to put a soft top bushing in. Otherwise I'm trying to think of how you would even get a top washer on without it immediately contacting the hanger when you turn. That was my issue. If big80 () made some super long/soft bushings, they'd be interesting to try in there.

If you somehow have a bushing running just down in the hanger spherical seat, please let me know how you have the washer/whatever you do-- set up. I'd be interested to try it.

JimZ's, unlike Smokies, have a true bushing seat on both sides of the clamshell. You don't need to run a bushing inside of it to make up for the spherical.

Try running a small cup washer, upside down to avoid some amount of bite, or, failing that, cut shims of bushings to throw in there to raise it up.

(*Sigh* I wish people made more trucks that you DIDN'T need to mod to make work)

ya, i wish someone would make a 196mm truck that fit venoms perfectly. if i could flip it and run it drop or topmount that would be tits n nips above the rest!

I hear that. I wish people made more precision hangers without sphericals.

There are 4 precision hangers without sphericals for every one with sphericals.
