Avila's are for railing....you can trim the lips and help make them do other things but at the end of the day they are for tight skating....the Nemmy might be a bit to drifty for them

My 81a Avilas still stick like a MF'er on my Nemmy.
Truthfully, I bought a nemmy thinking it would be my hardcore DH board. After riding it for 6 months it feels to me more like a freeride board, I end up riding my chopped super glider for gnarly downhill (chopped to 35", stock wheel base). Im not sayin that the nemmy cant handle DH, it just leaves me with a little more to be desired. I would get a Rayne Hellcat, Sayshun Crisis/Speed, Comet Loki, EW Mystery Model, Ryane Isis or just about any of the newer Madrid pro models if I were you.

I have the 81a avila's on my nemesis. Like the prior post said, it's a tight set up and I can carve hard. I was running the 77a Avila's but went with the 81a's about a month ago.
I don't understand why people wish to slide so much. It's like having twin tip downhill skis. Sometimes you can ski backwards. But so what. I will never ski backwards, no interest in it. It's a minor function of the sport.
It's like being one of the Hamboard kids and thinking the only real longboard is a 17 inch wide longboard. Schizophrania is narrow mindedness.
So the argument is thus, "How are you ever going to speedcheck when you need to shut down?"
And I say, "That presupposes a speed of travel which requires said speed-checking. Keep it under that speed."

I'm 3 barrels with a spherical seat that deep just translates to restriction. You're putting a piece of urethane in a confined space where something needs to move, and then another urethane piece above it for the same reason. Reflex or Venom or other long barrels work fine in place of the spherical. Just don't use super wide washers that will contact the hanger or really restrict the movement of the bushing.

3dm traditionally made slalom wheels. I'm not sure why people say that they should be changed for DH. They're just grippy 75mm wheels.
People DH with different styles. Some people (Mischo) like to foot brake and stick corners with (these wheels would work fine,) and some people like to drift constantly, (Kelly, and Switzer.)
How is anyone wrong in their own setup for their own style?
Ride what you have until it limits your abilities to do something. These aren't. Just ride #### what people on here tell you "is best".

some of us old people took a while to learn this....well still learning. I used to be a grip and rip kind of skater. Learning to drift has been enlightening not to mention it's soooo much fun
