Lol, no it's just funny to me that people here at Penn State especially say "oh man, all I do is bomb hills. I have gone 45mph easily." Then I take them to a mellow hill thats like 30-35mph and they're petrified. The most annoying part is those kids also say "Yah I taught this one kid today how to ride. I taught him how to push and foot brake, and bomb some hills." And that person themself can't footbrake at a speed above 15mph. It probably annoys you that I say this because you're one of those people who say you downhill but you never broke 40mph.

I never meant to offend anyone or sound like a dick, I'm just annoyed because there are 50 some people registered for the longboard club here. 45 of them say that they downhill. 30 of those haven't even broken the mould of their wheels. Of those other 15, 1 of them has gone over 35mph, and NOBODY on this campus will ride a god damn hill with me.

Then keep it to yourself. It doesn't really matter.

Maybe instead of coming here to talk down on them why don't you go out there and help them get better? Instead of leaving them in the dust why don't you slow yourself down? You are lucky to have 50 some people that can skate with you as I have 0 in my town. It gets lonely sometimes but progression pays off walking back up the hill alone. Try helping them get better, and if they don't want help don't give it to them. Just don't make seperate groups amongst downhillers based on skill. We aren't street skaters, we don't try to put eachother down, or wear tight pants and show the world a cocky attitude. Everyone talks big, but there really is no need to, something I learned that on SF as well.

I mainly skate under 40mph...
and YES, I ride stuff at 30/35mph that you would not dare riding...
Jar5173, I dont think you've ever ridden any really technical spot to say something like that.
Real downhill is not about going 50 or 60mph on a straight line with a couple sweepers...
Real downhill is going as fast as possible on ANY kind of road, whether it's kinda slow, TOOOOO damn steep and turny/hairpiny to go past 35 or straight over 70mph.
And if you ever decide to do a couple 180 stand ups in the middle of these spots, well, it's still downhill
