Jar, let me take your side here. I don't think you're being a dick at all. I've experienced this same frustration. In fact, anyone who is bashing you about you voicing this indeed doesn't know you like you said. I feel like I know you because this problem hits close to home for me. It is absurdly prevalent in Santa Barbara. I know how you feel. You go to a party and someone's talking about "bombing hills" so you get all stoked only to find out that the guy's 50mph runs happened to take place on a half-mile straight run that maxes out at 35mph if you have a superb tuck.
If I went to Penn State I would ride hills with you.
So for whoever was saying nobody cares about jar's vent: why are you even reading his post? Just skip over it if it doesn't affect you. You're spamming the thread just as much with your bitching about his bitching. Isn't that ironic?
Thanks for the support. Lol. You pretty much nailed it with that explanation.

its a 'foot stop' some people like them, lets you lean your foot against it a bit and get more turn I guess
its more of a slalom thing

More for foot placement, and to feel locked in.

I can dig on the locked in feeling, i like to ride with my foot way forward on my nemesis but I've never felt like I wanted that on a topmount, I like to move around a lot and put my foot way far forward when I want to
then again I've never put a toe stop on my avenger so maybe I'd like it

The toe-stop is usually as far forward as you would ever want to go. Re the moving around on your board: I only put them on race boards. You're not going to be moving around when you're going fast. You just want to be locked in.
I fell in love with them when I used to ride a Revenger since the rev has really wide concave and it can be hard to get locked in on it. Now I can't DH without one.

Re: your dh setup
I have a toe stop on my rain deck just so when I am pushing a wet aluminum deck I dont push my front foot off the deck. It happened once, but never again. Not only does it hurt to run yourself over, but you look stupid doing it.
