okay, relatively good question. Tell you what. You go start a company, make some decks, deal with the tests of life; Family, responsibilities, making ends meet, etc, while at the same time dealing with little skate brats who don't understand that you're trying to wrestle these adversities and make a little moolah on the side manufacturing products that aren't style, aren't fashion, but are actually FUNCTIONAL accesible skate gear. IT AINT EASY, OR QUICK.

now you make me feel bad for wanting a caften
Nick Chamberlain
skate please

They had to move the entire company to a new place so it will take them some time to get everything back up and running. Read the top challenge article by ian in the new concrete wave and read what he had to go through moving all that junk himself. You'll want that caften to support them and plus that board kicks ass I wish i got it over the evo now because the evo isn't as interesting to ride as the caften would be.

I'm not being a skate brat.
Just wondering when.
Not demanding that they serve me.
Not putting them down.
Just kinda wanting to throw my money at them.
My bad.

Its all good. I can dig where you're coming from and in retrospect, the first post was a little more snobby than I had intended.
But thanks for the reminder of how grateful we should be to our product providers.

yeah ....... my education has turned me into a pompous a**hole and i feel inclined to flout my knowledge whenever i can
Sucks that you are wrong. 8) Well, sorta... Shortages are only caused by price ceilings. Kebbek, if they always wanted a board in stock, should've raised their prices, effectively rationing them better than they apparently have. Theoretically. I think.
**** it, you can have it.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

It's strange to hear this. Kebbek produces wooden boards in the general overall view. Throw a few plys in the mold and you come out with a product. Can't really compare their shortages to, say, Xbox 360, which have more intricate hi-tech parts.

nah, all im saying is that companies have factories. those factories can only produce so much. if theres a demand for the product, and those factories running at full production cant meet it, then theres a shortage.
and bilzo, you're right about price ceilings, but thats a way to prevent a shortage, not a cause of it
i could be wrong and i also dont know kebbek well, and that might not be the issue

cept... kebbeks factory is kebbek....so the problem is even worse... cause its Ian trying to get stuff out the door pretty much by himself. He's a chiller, and I bet he'll be in here any minute calming everyone down with a logical and articulate answer... or maybe he's too busy making more boards for you un-gratefull skate-pigmys.
