Default east coast transportation to Maryhill festival of speed

i just came up with a brilliant idea for all of us east coast riders that want to go out west for the maryhill festival of speed in september of next year. this thing is suposed to be one of the biggest speed events yet, but it costs like 350 bucks to fly out there, let alone getting from the airport to the hill. what if we all pooled our money together and rented one of those huge 50 or 80 person charter busses, it would probably cost between 200 to 250 bucks a person if i had to guess depending on how many people went, how long we had it, and how far we had to go. it could also start somewhere like nyc, and stop in major citys on the way, possibly some in the midwest and farther west like colorado and utah since they would most likely be on the way. just a thought, but id like others thoughts or input on this idea
this thing could be epic, and i would love to see if we can get as many people out there from the east coast as possible

Anyone from CA going I really want to go and make a great learning, and getting my ass whipped experience but dont have a ride. I could pitch in gas money and buy a few lunches. I could meet you somewhere in Norcal or anywhere really and you could take me then drop me off at the same place.

That sounds like a good idea. I still probably need to fly out because I need to minimize days missed from school. It would take a few days from NYC to get there and that would be near constant driving.

Stay to your own coast. You don't see a bunch of us west coasters flooding your competitions. You are no better than the crazy Canadians that come down and steal our groceries damnet.

isn't montana devoid of a coast? maybe you shouldn't be talking ####.
in all seriousness, though, if anyone from Florida is going, i might be able to meet up with you guys. Nola is pretty damn far out of the way for someone coming from NYC.
and those big charter buses are too expensive. think 15 person van with 30 people in it a-la immigrant smuggling, and now you're talking the language of the broke ass skateboarder.

I hope like hell you are kidding...otherwise I would have to label you a grade A douche.

Anyways...if I can make the race I am definately up for a bus...that would be absolutely amazing. I'd fly home because I have to make the start of term for college but going out would be incredible.

college or maryhill??? thats a hard choice. just tell your professors that you're going to do a 5-day exsperiement in gravity...if that does'nt work, just tell them you are a EXTREME athelete and that your sponsers can't allow you to miss this event. tell 'em its going to Be X-TREME TO THE MAX!

Definately a good idea, but like Rabid said earlier, some of us gotta minimize the days of school missed.
Although, if we drive non-stop it should be just over 2 days.
If you get enough people willing to drive, so you can just switch off, instead of having to stop and sleep, I'd be interested.

yes, thats exactly what we could do, i think on mapquest it said something like 35 hours from columbus, just to give you guys a reference point so driving non-stop, leave friday night, drive all night, all day saturday, get there sunday about noon, something like that. i think its a good idea, but then again, we would have to start getting stuff together probably sometime near the end of the summer if we wanted to do it on time. im just trying to figure out how much money it would take for gas....?
