Truck choice
I'm putting together a deck that will be mainly for scouting new hills for slalom. Want to be able to bomb the hills with it. Don't think I'll be up over 35mph. I'll be putting some Force trucks on it in a month or so but right now I have the following trucks to chose from. Which do you think would work best for that speed? Board has a 31" wb. I've got Seismic 180s (45/30), Tracker 149s, Tracker 184s, Tracker 218s, and in the mail is a set of Indy 215s.
My Quiver?
Too many boards that I don't ride enough...

Re: Truck choice
i would just stick with the 215's. S 10's might be an ok choice too.

Re: Truck choice
trackers do turn better than indys in my opinion, they feel decently stable to, ide say tracker 184s, they will be more responsive than the 218s. try a seismic upfront if you dont like it with the trackers, fully setup with seismics might be a bit wiggly, depending on springs. my seismic 180s, 30 degree alla round , red springs feel very twitchy once i hit about 25-30mph
and i dont think s10s would be a very good choice, the trucks you have will get the job done just fine.

Re: Truck choice
Either the big trackers or indys.
S 10's would be a dangerous choice for anything over 25mph although I have a friend who could go very fast on them pretty comfortably.

Re: Truck choice
when i suggested the S 10's, i was talking 'bout the slolam its self. sorry for the misunderstanding.

Re: Truck choice
even for slalom, s10s would be an outrageous choice due to their shear size.
and many other factors i dont want to get into....

Re: Truck choice
im not going back on what i said, they feel sloppy for slalom, i ripped them thru some cones in the summer, sure there fun but they just slop to one side with no rebound, a small tracker rtx or other slalom oriented trucks feel much better when your pumping thru cones.
and i dont feel like a 5 paragraph argument.

nick, i was agreeing with you, and making reference to the suggestion of using S10s, not your assesment of their viability for slalom.

Re: Truck choice
i frequently bomb hills on my wedged 215's with 75a/80a bushings. ive had them above 45mph loose and they were fine. they are also very low so kicking and cruising is a breeze.

Re: Truck choice
trackers still have my vote, you could go 218, peronsonally i would go 184, and because your scouting for slalom your going to want to carve the hills, the 184s should give a bit more "slalomy" response when your testing out the hills. mess around with wedgint to, try wedged front, with wedged back, or just wedged front. but how wide is your board? i dont know about the 149s, becasue of the wheelbite risk.

Re: Truck choice
I used the 215's I'm sending you for some light downhill. I took them up to around 45 without any problems with the Indy medium bushings that it had stock.
Appreciate life.
