Question Sector 9 - CHOPES - COSMIC SERIES

    Hey guys,

Would this CHOPES - COSMIC SERIES, be a good board for speed? Does any of you have it for speed?

What trucks on it? Force c7? What do you guys think?

Help me as i never done speeding approprietly, i always did it with my other S9 - wich has kick nose and tail....or powell.

The dimensions look pretty small in every direction... 38" is long enough, but you usually see guys riding decks between 40-42". A 25" wheelbase might be pretty unstable at high speeds but will handle corners nicely. 8.5" width might be okay for you, but I wear size 13 shoes and like something between 9.5 and 10".

Look into the Bomb Hills or Goddess of Speed models, both have been proven race boards.

It's because i got it from ebay for a bargain price, therefore i bought it. Cause it was real cheap.

And i though about some better trucks, cause it has gulwing mission or something like that, i suppose it still got the stock trucks bearings and wheels.

Perhaps i could be a good carver deck then? Instead of c7's i should get some r7's then? Therefore i could also try to flip hangers and so on.

Talking about Force's how about their decks??? (Just a simple question dudes. Are they good?)

Has anyone tried them out already?

How do you do, young Willie McBride,
Do you mind if I sit here, by your grave side
And rest for a while in the warm summer sun,

I've been walking all day and I'm nearly done
I see by your grave stone your were only nineteen,
When joined the great fallen in 1915
I hope you died well and I hope you died clean,
Or Willie McBride was it slow and obscene?

if you want people to comment on a board, it helps to have a picture and/ or a link to it.

my DH board has a 29" WB and is 9.5 wide and i ride on the very small side for DH boards
that said, i've skated a 22 inch wheelbase to well over 40mph before on trucks very similar to the stock ones on that S9.
you'd probably just be better off trading it for a Bomb hills or GOS, or really any moderately stiff pintail.

the force decks look nice, although all the shapes are kind of whack except for the force carbon.

    @WILDER

That's true, this website from NL, was the only website i saw these boards. The Carbon edition is awesome! For me it doesn't go to much cause i live in UK and the postage from there would not go so $$$$$$. Though the board already cost a lot, if you compared with the Biggest names out there.

    Soccersomona
Cheers man...thats all good to know....

    Letucefresh

Sorry mate for not having done this before, which could be actually much easier...
I already bought the board, cause it was a bargain on ebay. And i do a lot of Cruising, carving and mainly sliding. (Though i hate to to sliding with short boards). I love OLD SCHOOL man....i has to big longboarding literally.

And i was just asking you guys for some help. To know if these board could also be good for speeding, cause then i could get some better trucks with a smaller angle. like the c7. FORCE COMPETITION 7. 35degrees right?

    PICS OF THE CHOPES:

    cheers all!

Theres no reason why you cant ride it and go fast. Thats up to you.
but if you want something that is designed to go fast above everything else, then something flat,(ie no camber) concave and stiff as hell is the way to go. Wide is good, and a wheelbase about 30-35 inches does the trick.

Oh yeah, I'll get right on that... NOT.

Still waiting for a reponse from Force as to why they sent silver trucks instead of the black ones that I ordered.

Well I'll be paying sickboards a visit one of these days So I might check it out IRL then. I'm going to setup my voodoo with originals and am planning to buy a second voodoo so I won't have to switch trucks every time when I go DH riding (I now have it with crails). But then again, the force is almost the same price. SO I might get a force instead of an extra voodoo.

I'll just have to think about it a bit more and see it IRL first

Talking Re: Sector 9 - CHOPES - COSMIC SERIES

i got the chopes and took it to a small newly paved hill down the street, i barely pushed and i went down and the high speed wobble started and i couldn't stop it and i fell and ate the pavement so hard and it hurt. this is definately not made for down hill or speed but its great for goin around town and stuff, does anyone know any tips or something that will stop this from happening in the future????
