    Default Concave

I'm thinking about building my own board and im not quite sure about the concave.
This will be my first build, and i was hoping to make it easy which is why id like to know how well a speed board with no concave is. (i did research but i couldnt find anything)
It is going to be around 39 or 40 inches, still not sure how thick, suggestions?
    Im 5'10 and around 175.

There are concaveless speedboards. Martin Siegrist rides without concave. And so do some others. It's more what you like yourself. And concave will make it possible to make the board thinner/lighter

Maple, you'll probably want atleast 8 or 9 plies of 1/16". With baltic birch, you'll want to go either 5/8 or 3/4" thick.

No concave is just fine, just ask Chaput!
If thinking of making a speedboard you should check out Chris Chaput's website, it gives very simple instructions on how to make one, including how thick to make it.
