Re: IGSA Information
So could someone like me go to Maryhill and stay there just for the 3 days of free rides and just pay the money for it? Does that mean I dont get the riders tent, live bands, and festival type thing because im not racing?

Re: IGSA Information
So you dont have to race to get all that? That was my question. I'm going for the experience. Not the race.

Just come along for the fun and experience, no one will tell you that you need to race. But in the end of the week and you feel like riding more why not enter? its fun to try out a timetrial. maybe you will improve from 1st to 2nd timetrial and you will be stoked about that. It will give you lots of experience.

Re: IGSA Information
My orginal plan was to go and race and the whole 9 yards. Camping out all 5 days and such. But now I sorta want to do the 3 days of free riding with the pros and get all the knowledge I need to race in the future and sit the race out and just chill. But would I have to race and compete to get the riders tent/camp ground/BBQ (lol)/ And all that?

Re: IGSA Information
Or you could just race and learn a lot from it. Who cares if you're not going to win the whole thing, it's still fun.

Re: IGSA Information
What side of Mt. Ventoux is the race on?
What is this course like?

Re: IGSA Information
This is why I asked
The “Maryhill Festival of Speed “will be much more than just a race. Competitors will spend five days in a festival type of atmosphere with a rider’s tent, athlete party, live entertainment, campground and three days of free riding in addition to the World Cup event. The Maryhill Historic Loops Road is known as one of the premier venues for gravity racing in North America because of the challenging hairpin corners, high speeds and perfect pavement.
It says competitors, not people there to watch and pay the 25 each day for the free rides with the pros.

Re: IGSA Information
Come on... Race!!! It is so much fun, give it a try. Why wait for the future when you can do it sooner at maryhill ?

Re: IGSA Information
I probably will. Thanks guys. (I know you guys just want someone to beat though, lol)
-
Re: IGSA Information
Wow thanks for the low expectations. Maybe we just wanted to convince you to have fun, but you know, you can always be negative, that's cool too.

You'd BETTER race. Don't concern yourself with winning, hell, don't even concern yourself with making it down the road without falling, focus on HAVING FUN and doing your BEST.
No one will laugh, nor will they care if you airbrake the whole way down... You're still gonna get just as fat a high five at the end of the course from me.

Re: IGSA Information
^^^^^^^^ and that's what matters. My first freeride was airbraking all the way down the first run. But everybody will know you tried and they will know you;ve had fun. Just do it!

I think i'm either gonna take a week off of school in september and drive myself up there or get my friends together and have a roadtrip up there.

Re: IGSA Information
The file is called maryhill.jpg, and there's at thumbtack called Maryhill start.
All the clues point to yes.
