    Default Top Mount Bomb Hills?

    Hi,

I have a Bomb Hills deck and recently started bombing hills more and am thinking about making my BH a top mount. I heard that Noah Sakamoto did this with his Goddess and was wondering if anyone has any information on it. How hard is it? Pictures? Could I do it if I'm not very wood working inclined?

    Thanks.

    i'm guessing you mean a drop-through?
top mount is standard mounting style.

dude just ride it the way it is and tune your trucks and you will be fine. ive gone close to 60mph on mine mounted regular. you will actually have better traction on corners if you just leave it the way it is and less if you drop it through
    I\'ll go first...

Just imagine the two setups in a turn. With a top-mount, more of your weight is on top of the truck pushing down, which makes the wheels grip harder. With a drop-through, the force isn't totally on top of the trucks, and when you turn, there's actually some horizontal force pushing the truck sideways since the board connects in the middle of the truck instead of on top of it.

wouldnt it be the same force just since its under the truck its pulling but feet over the truck is pushing the wheels i see what you mean but i dont think it will make that much of a difrence will it?

I have no doubt that this is indeed true but what's the point of drop through boards then if top mounts appear to be better overall? It seems a drop through would only have an advantage if its just a completely straight hill or its just for cruising...

it will absolutely make a difference. say you're riding rayne boards. the hellcat will definitely more easily slide than the avenger. maybe it's not a massive difference, but the general idea is if you want traction around turns you go top-mount, and if you wanna drift you go drop-through or dropped (or both)

my kebbek flushcut LOVES to slide and drift, even with really grippy wheels

drop-through and dropped boards do lower your center of gravity and are better, IMO, for higher speeds (less prone to wobbles), they just don't have as much traction to the road around turns. that's why top-mounts are more recommended for runs called technical runs, where there are a lot of tight turns
