    Default Navman Sport.Tool X300

I was looking onto this GPS.

It's designed specificly for skiing and snowboarding use for mesuaring Downhill speeds.

One of our crew has the Hyking version and that doesn't calculate the altitude in the speeds. This one does.

    Annny experience with it?

I ordered the A300. Wich is basicly the same when it comes to speedmeasurements. The X300 can store more though. But that's not the most importatnt for me

Dude, I had that one. But with the green cover.
    Datadreamer also has one.

They are good, altough loose their signal often, and thus give non reliable speeds.

the New A300 is supposed to have less signal loss because of the stronger reciever. We'll just ahve to see

I'm going to make a strap to put it on my front foot so I can rad it easier

And the new one has been out for about a month now, so it's still qu9ite new. the "old"one had a 0.9 km/h tolerance and the new one 0.3.
So not much of a differeceo. But I'm gonna sompare it with my brothers Garmin he uses for bush travel and such. Just to see how accurate it is.
After all, all we need is the speed

(mind you, his was almost 600€ so it's a pretty damn good unit)

I took a bad fall on 5/24/2008 at Mt. Baker, went off the road and fell down the side of the mountain. I went into a coma, badly broke my pelvis, lacerated my liver and almost died on the mountain AND later in the hospital. The rehabilitation therapists had to teach me how to do everything again...everything.

I survived that mountain because of my helmet...WEAR ONE and send your family to the hospital, not the morgue.

I used to sell the Navman A300's and every one I sold died about the same time as the first set of batteries. The screen started by showing half a screen and then that bit disappeared too. Every one was replaced under warantee, then second time I just refunded them and demanded the money back from Navman. I now sell the Garmin ones and the older Forerunners are the best (much faster than the new one).

    Cheers

I just got a message that the A300 and X300 are out of stock and won't be in stock for a month or 2. Damned.

It's good in one way, I need new bearings and wheels annyway. But it suck in anouther way 'cause I really wanted to try my speed on my vacation.
