I've ridden on a buddy's board where he actually added riser to make his drop through deck even lower WITH smokies, and it didn't have clearance issues, so I'm sure you'll be fine as long as you aren't running 50mm wheels

kahalani's are not split axle you kook, they're axles vary in thickness throughout the hangar, they are 8mm in the middle then go to 13mm going twords the end of the hangar then are lathed back down to 8mm. the axles are replaceable but Dan said its easier just to get a new hangar.

re: CNC'd and Performance DH Trucks
I'm pretty sure that JimZ axles only come in 200 and 174.

re: CNC'd and Performance DH Trucks
I think this thread has some of the best resources about Precision trucks. As a result, it is now a sticky. Keep up the good info!

re: CNC'd and Performance DH Trucks
correct me if i'm wrong but flipping the smokies doesn't do anything either
-
re: CNC'd and Performance DH Trucks
The Smokies, due to their spherical bearing system, are unable to be flipped.

re: CNC'd and Performance DH Trucks
It seems to me like most of the data under "axle width" should really be "hanger width," or something like "effective hanger width" when you deal with the stepped axles of a JimZ truck. Axle width, I assume, should be tip-to-tip...?
And Kahalani's are flippable, but it doesn't do anything.

Jim will make anything you want larger than 174mm, all you gotta do is ask nicely,
He's made up to 215mm, thats shoulder to shoulder!

2nd!
Oh and a vote for the following measurements, some of these could be tricky to get.
axle offset
pivot to kingpin center
kingpin center to axle center
axle center to bottom of baseplate
axle center to inner bolt-hole
Edit
I also thought this would live happily here.

these photo's still give me a grin, Thanks A-Drain!

re: CNC'd and Performance DH Trucks
Its not CNC that makes them pricision, its the fact that they are machined not cast.
