    The dee-lite currently weighs 1.3 - 1.4 kg.
about 400-500g lighter than the 07 carbon.

well id think with a lighter deck, correct me if im wrong but if its lighter wouldnt it be easier to unweigh it and drift it without have to get so far off the board.

Its close...I'd need a scale but I'd bet that the D lite is a bit lighter.

so how much of a difference in trucks is like riding randal 180 hangers on randal dh trucks compared to like smokies or jims? i really have a hard time seeing almost 300 dollars for trucks are they really worth it? it would be nice to try a set.

now that we know that the Dee-Lite Hellcats are the lightest speedboard available
and that Kahalani's are the lightest precision trucks.
All we have left to discover is which race wheel is the lightest...

I only use carbon-fiber axle nuts myself. Shaves 0.001 oz off my board.

But seriously, even Mr. Doubting-Thomas Physics Geek thinks that wheel weight matters -- rotational inertia is a surprisingly big deal for both cornering feel and straight-line acceleration/deceleration. I'll have to do the math for y'all when I get bored at work today.

But your answer: 76mm Flys. They're mostly core with a thin little layer of 'thane. (Or, of course, the older ones with even bigger cores.) But which duro is lightest?

    77mm speedvents, or 78mm blastwaves?

    Hey Speedfiend,

Nice initial peek at your ride and the POGO logo caught my eye. I ride Pogo alpine racing and freecarving snowboards. They rip compared to anything else I have ridden over the years.

But anyway, I live, build and ride in the Lehigh Valley (Easton, PA) with occasional jaunts to the Poconos looking for new hills. I have found a few and adding more to the list all the time.

    On CF:
I have used CF for most of my wood builds and can say it offers a nice spring and stiffnes to my decks. I am also in process of designing and building some CF decks and may need some guinea pigs next spring and summer to test them out if you are interested. I am in Philly a couple times a week as well, so maybe we could hook there as well. Each of my cycles of builds has lead to trying new materials in different configurations and performance. It is cool to see how materials behave with each other when put into one working unit.

As Gecko says, I echo that some of the technologies and materials that have gone into alpine snowboard building make a difference in their performance and can see that occuring with longboards.

After my round of Cf builds, I am looking to include some other materials that offer both vibration dampening and and rigidity while going lighter.

I will be back in the city in about eight days, let me know when you are in the city again, skate a garage or two, the federal reserve ramps look sick.

when i bought my 08 hellcat i could have gotten a dlite one for 50€ more. im glad i didnt go for it because i like to ride my boards hard...im pretty sure my precious dlite would be trashed by now. aside from slamming into curbs, stuff like oldschool kickflips and nosemanuals would have taken their toll.

dh race with grizzlies, and 97 flys, is probably the heaviest dh setup, so what is the complete opposite of this.
