The mating dance of the elusive longboarder is the cross-step into G-turn. So break out the Dancer, show her your big wood, and start making her wet with your mad dancing.
I'm not pro speedboarder, and im still yet to find a reasonable hill to hit 25mph+ yet with out campus security on my tail (they are very nice though). When I do tuck how ever it dosnt take long for it to really start to strain my legs, I do alot of hard wheel sliding but now im getting into downhill... I imagine it may be im not used to it, im unfit ( i wouldnt of thought that though till i tried tucking ahaa) Or am I doing something wrong? I have my back foot heel off the board if that makes any diffrence.

tucking is definitely something that takes stamina

the more you go dh with a tuck, the more time you can last on a tuck

Like everyone said, the more you do it, the more you'll tone your muscles and also develop a more efficient tucking position.
One thing that I've found is that a flat footed tuck is less tiring than having your back heel raised. Other things you might try are resting your chest on your front thigh and locking your back knee right behind your front knee.

Yea, after a while you should get used to it and your stamina in your legs should start holding for longer periods of time.

Just have fun when you skate lol... don't be a robot.
Thats what those dudes are doing... having fun. messing around.
Yeah, I think those guys knew what they were doing and were just doing weird grabs in a joking way.
Either way, if I saw a guy riding that well, wearing leathers and a fullface with Colabo and company names plastered all over, I don't think I would try to tell him the correct way to grab rail even though I think stinkbug looks bad and is not as effective.
And as for DH runs, if it takes more than 5 mins you're doing it wrong
(jk, I know a run in wyoming that takes at least 20 mins, and I can never tuck the whole way down. I don't mind skating downhill for 20 minutes straight though )

[QUOTE=gavmck;974594]Mmmm I'll go with that. Especially in a situation where you CAN make the inside line through the turn without drifting. Inside line is less distance meaning faster through the corner. My inside/outside/inside line is generally used for freeriding by me when I don't want to drift, but I do want to make the corner.
Eg. one of my fave hills which happens to be about 3 foot wide. Drifting could easily send you off the edge into doom land.
Extra random thought: In speedboarding, people seem to assume racing, but it counts as freeride too, right?[/Q
i would say so, but there are so many different interperatations its hard
Man i hate skating hills in the rain......i ALWAYS lose control. i guess i should try and lighten up my turn in the rain......
you should try to make rain wheels. it will be unreversable but good in the rain. put the wheels on a drill so they spin and take anything sharp and touch it to the wheels just enough so it makes shallow grooves. then u can keep your grip in the rain.

Thanks for the help from everybody, yeah I already rest my chest on my front leg, I think that was more from trying to get lower and tighter than for resting, Ill try a few things out next time im out. I think doing some leg curls will help too
